Fork Extensions for 5.5 degree ez-steer on "07 GL1800 . . .

Fork Extensions for 5.5 degree ez-steer on "07 GL1800 . . .

I'm trying to determine (without disassembly) if my 07' GL1800 w/2018 1800HTS RS trike kit and 5.5 degree EZ-Steer came with 2" front fork extensions. The trike definitely has a "nose-down" attitude, and I very much would like to level it out.

Some say the extensions are part of the EZ-Steer Kit . . . some say they didn't come with the kit. My trike was built by Kevin Dodd of KD Cycles in Altoona, Alabama.

I need to know the best method to level out my trike (raise the front end by extending the forks by +/- 2").

Any guidance would be appreciated.

Regards,

Dave Calahan

How good are you at guessing length. You should be able to run your hand along the fork tube up under the fairing. Near the the top triple tree on the fork tube you might be able to feel where the plug screws into the fork tube. Then be able to estimate how far it is to the top of the extension plug.

Last Thursday I removed the plug extensions on mine. There is spacer tubes between the extension pugs and the springs in the fork tubes. I cut a couple spacers (1-1/4") longer than what was in mine. This raised it up a about the same. I have 1" extension plugs,so I ordered 2" extension plugs from Papa Zook. Ordered on Friday and recieved them on Monday. Fast.

I plan to add these this week. This should get my trike up a couple inches from where it started. I think it will be level when done.
