Well Jack, you finally got your recall & now we both have a problem with our FW's:gah:
Did you check yours?
I do not have a problem mine works fine If Harley wants to fix it they can I wont argue
I still think there is more to it than just another hydraulic fix HMMMMMMM
I wonder where the brake fluid is actually going?
I'm gonna pull my master cylinder cover tomorrow & check the level.
It states in the service manual that as the clutch wears, the master cylinder fluid level will rise.
Cover your gas tank so you don't dribble fluid on it
That will ruin your nice black paint
Look at the bottom of your master cylinder do you see any black muddy crap in there?
I have flushed my fluid twice already, wiped the master out clean. Clutch pivot clevis taken out of handle and cleaned and lube To date I have had NO problems including no problems starting in gear![]()
I just went on the NHTSB website & put in 2017 Freewheeler & no recall come up.
I guess I need to contact my dealer.

Here is the last updated piston
Michael, see post #15
Put your VIN in I bet your Freewheeler is on the list
Jack, would you think that in replacing this part, they would have to bleed the clutch line, to get all the air out?
That is my thought & I am going to now hold off on replacing/flushing the clutch brake fluid.
I'm checking it in a little while, as I want to get a ride in.
Thanks

Yes, I went there last night & it is. We had talked about this before, but I wonder if this is why the newer soft tails went to cable operated clutches.
Michael, did your dealer give you an estimate of time involved to perform recall work?
