Wow Ken, sorry to here about your fire experience! But glad to hear about your new trike life! I have a bad hip also and I just triked my bike in January and do not regret it a bit. I think you will love the 1200, they are good bikes. Ride safe and post often!
PS: If you had house insurance, I have heard that some policies cover a vehicle, if it is inside the house/garage. Just a thought. Good luck.

Most insurance company's will not cover an insurable idem; ie motorcycle's, cars atv's etc.. in a house fire/thef unless you have a separate insurance policy on them [rider]

They say a Senior Citizen is a 25 year old looking in the mirror at a 65 year old body wondering what the ##ll happened. 54 and 54. All my parts are working but after a 36 to 48 hour shift at work I need a few days to recover. Thankfully those days do not happen as often as they use to. At 24 I could work all week with only one or two hours of sleep each night. No implants for me so far. The wife has a titanium plate in her neck that is starting to cause problems. She's been my BOB since we were 15. Had a trike kit installed because I wanted the next 30 years to be as safe as the last 30 years. My only injury to date is burning my ankle on the exhaust on my 81 Yamaha 650 Maxim. The last time I ever got on a motorcycle with no socks.
I'm going to check my home owners insurance next week.

67 & 3/4....68 in July and still riding, now a 2013 Tri-Glide. First cycle was at 16 yrs old and it was a Sears Allstate scooter.

54 and looking to get my first trike due to bad knees, back, lack of riding experience. Want to ride with the better half and she don't like only two wheels.

I'm 45 .. I'm healthy, fit, over 100,000 miles on 2 wheels and had a blast on a trike, so I bought one 4 weeks ago! it now has 6,000 miles on it. I just LOVE to ride. :):GL1800:

69 and holding
Started with a Bridgestone 175 Hurricane in 1966. Triked our Road Star in May 2014. Already got 3000 miles on it.
