My 02 Road King has been leaking transmission fluid from either the main seal or shifter shaft, now i have done this job about 15 years ago when i didn't have arthritis in my hands and it wasn't all that bad.But now my hands just dont work the way they used to so gonna farm it out and the HD shop that i use for warranty work is shut down but the master tech is layed off and working out of his shop at home.I have known him for more than 20 years a consider him a friend so going to let him do it for me,having a new belt installed and a back tire while i'm at it.Doing my part to support our local folks during this Covid 19 BS. Putting a belt for side car use on it,they are more heavy duty than a standard belt.

ThumbUpThumbUp....................

Did my first "Drive Through" on the tri today ... LOL. Mom really has been missing her Poppy Seed Bagel fix lately ... so ... figured kill two birds with one stone, get in a ride.

Went to Einstein Bagels drive through ... man did I get some really strange looks from the Soccer Mom's in their SUV's getting their breakfast for the families.

So, while ordering, I didn't even have to shut the trike down, the gal could hear me ... :D ... When I got the order, she commented, "That's the quietest Harley I've ever heard." I did have to get off the trike to get the bag and put it in the tour pak, and one of the Soccer Mom's actually honked at me ... I couldn't help it, I actually laughed at her ... which of course led to her honking again ... really felt like going over an coughing on her ... but, didn't want to drop to her level. It's not like she waited long, it was like 1000 and there were 2 cars ahead of me and 2 behind me .. the whole transaction only took like 3 minutes in and out.

For the record, I got mom three poppy seed and me three six cheese and two tubs of cream cheese. I put one poopy seed and one six cheese in two baggies and froze them for other days, will be soon, cream cheese doesn't store well. So we will have them for the next three days. :D

And that was my contribution to the economy for today.

God willing and the creek don't rise ... might get me some 14" shocks from DK in the near future :D

I never look to see if the light has changed, I just wait for the helpful friendly people behind me to let me know the light turned green by blowing their horn .:D

You should have paid for the car that was honking then took her order since you paid for it so she would have to got back in line.....

What a great piece of advice ... wish I'd of thought of that at the time ... to be honest ... I was more worried about keeping the cream cheese from tipping over in my tour pak, of course, unbeknown to me, there was a sealed layer of aluminum under the plastic lid.

I have done that job before also Steve , but you made a wise decision to have someone else do it. I wont do it again at my age either. More than likely is the drive seal & not the shifter. I still have all those tools for that job. Last used in 04 when I put a Baker 6 spd in the 03 5 spd. May be antique now , lol

It probably is the main seal but when that far in makes no sense to not replace everything including the quad seal and the inner primary seal.
