OK, I’m guilty.

Many moons ago as part on routine maintenance I made sure the air shocks on my 2016 were inflated to between 25 & 30 pounds.

Today I’m out on a ride and thinking how bad these roads are in PA. It dawned on me that I might want to check my shocks.

Yup, no air. They had bleed down slowly over time and the change was slow and subtle and I didn’t notice it.

Put 25 pounds back in and the roads in PA still suck but my ride is much better.

You may want to check yours if your ride is bad.

Part of my pre ride inspection is checking the air shocks. Only takes 30 second's to hook the digital gauge to it. I check the lug nuts, lights/ 4 ways, the sight bubble in both the brake fluid and clutch resovoirs. I check the front wheel castle nut and make sure that cotter pin is there- if nothing else I always do that even every time before I get back on during a ride. Back in '14 a driver I know was coming home from Sturgis when that castle nut came off, the axle backed out just enough that the wheel jammed up and he and his wife flipped ass over teakettle. She was killed and the bike was totaled. Check that cotter pin.
