2014 Tri Glide Down Payment

I just put a down payment on a 2014 Tri Glide. Should pick it up next week. I have a few questions, the satellite radio, is it complete, do I just need to call for service? Parts man said I need them to install a part that cost around $500.00 for satellite to work, then call provider and pay a monthly fee, is this correct. just can imagine paying $500 then place a call to get a monthly bill?

I paid $500 for XM installed on my Tri-Glide at the HD dealer, plus installation charge (don't remember what that was in 2009). Had the unit transferred from the 2009 TG to the 2013 TG. The code # is on the box that you give to Sirius/XM when you call for activation after installation.I pay $123/year for music only. Well worth it to me. I love listening to music thru my headset while going down the road.

The cost of the parts is equal to almost $500. The XM receiver and a overlay harness is needed to be successful. I transferred mine from an 08 Ultra to the tri-glide. You can use one of the discount HD dealers for parts and install it yourself. Monthly fees for music depends on what you want on the menu. Overall for me, it's the best way to go.

I've had XM for over 11yrs. one in each of my three cars, Trike and man cave. Thats five radios. One good thing about having so many is each year when they try to increase your rate, I just tell them I don't think so, I've had this too long and have to many to pay for an increase. So far it's worked. I pay for the year in advance and get a discount. When we use the boat I take the one from the man cave with us.

Yep, I enjoy commercial free radio wherever I go. ThumbUp

For 2014's, the XM radio # 76000351. The price of the unit is $399.00. Shop time. I wouldn't doubt it. It is a plug and play unit. About 7 screws to take off the front fairing, plug it in, mount antenna, put the front fairing back on,turn on ignition, it downloads what it needs in software and you are rocking out.

Got my XM unit today. Got it installed in about an hour. Easy to do.The thing I found that might be troublesome to some is that you need the hex tip screw drivers. But all plug and play. Kutter has a good price on them and every thing over 99 bucks is free shipping. Saved my self a good 68 bucks.

I saw it advertised, why does it include a handlebar mount? What I want is the unit the plugs into the radio not the handle bar mounting XM receiver. It also list an antenna, where does this mount. Please explain what your XM unit looks like and how it operates. Thanks!

This is the Harley number #76000351. Put it in the parts window on the Kutter HD web site and the one you are wanting will pop up. Handlebar mount??? If you are referring to the bracket that comes with the unit, thats your antenna mount. The antenna goes under the fairing. The unit slides inside the radio once you pull the small plate off. The the antenna bracket mounts on two screws higher up under the fairing. Mine gets very good signal but up here in the NW the trees in the mountains will block the signal at times but in the open spaces, no problem.

My wife loves satellite radio on hers. I just use Pandora and Spotify (free version) and use the bluetooth connection. Works great and to me it seems to have more of what I listen to.

Oh I see what you are looking at. That is a mistake on their part. I knew what the parts look like by going on other Harley sites and checking prices plus Ebay. And a little alcohol pad that you should use to clean the mounting surface of the antenna mount and there is a 2 sided tape to mount the antenna. Very easy to put in. I noticed the 2014 triglide fairing was easier to take off by removing the passing lamps (2 nuts each). My 2006 Ultra fairing came off without removing the lamps. But other than that, 7 screws for the fairing and windshield and 4 screws for the head light once the headlight trim ring is removed.

No, the antenna is mounted on the bracket and the fairing covers it or hides it. The antenna bracket mounts on the two screws up by your fuel gauge. Very tight area. I pulled the fuel gauge wiring plug from the gauge and that allowed me to get my fat fingers in the area. The antenna bracket is made to fit those 2 screws. So they only need be backed out enough to slide the bracket in. If you look as you put the fairing back on, the antenna will fit just about an inch or so under the fairing. It will pick up a signal of 4 bars which is a good signal.

Checked with friend of mine who owns a audio shop. He tells me that a really good water tight marine am/fm/xm installed into any Harley with speakers for around $350.00. So I think $500.00 is totally outragous.

For a bunch of years I used a Pioneer Inno XM radio on my bike. Mounted the antenna to the headlight nasal and plugged the headphone jack into the Aux jack on the radio. They were about $300 new, but I've seen them for under a hundred on Amazon. Good Luck.
