Recently bought a 2005 K 1200 LT with a Hannigan conversion Love how it handles, When i bought it the guy told me that the ABS light was flashing and so I knew. He stated that it had started about a month ago the brakes still work well but was wondering what it could be, master cylinders all full, but when you hit the brakes while setting still you hear the pump? or what ever running. Any Ideas out there? I am a new member and really like the forum and site. Thanks, Butch

There is so much electronics with ABS ... I'm clueless. You're probably gonna need to take it to a dealer and get them to put it on their machine.

Hi Butch, I'm a member of another forum which has people with vast experience of the K1200LT and the problem you may be having. Do a search in the "Hall of Wisdom" to find your answer or if you would like to ask a question the members there are more than willing to help you out. BMWLT.com. For instance, 1 Hz. flash is a check and therefore normal until you roll a few feet forward then the light will extinguish. 4 Hz. flash would mean another problem from possible low battery to air in the system. The hand and foot brake and associated reservoirs are 1 circuit down to the servo. In turn the servo supplies pressure to the front and rear calipers which is another circuit. The front and rear brakes are linked together. The servo may be low on fluid. The system requires a system flush every couple of years to help prevent premature servo failure. I only have limited information about it. It sounds as if the servo motors are working as you hear the whirling sound as the brakes are applied. But this system is very fickle and they only used it for a limited number of years. A replacement servo pump is said to be in the $2800.00 range plus installation cost. There is also a servo pump bypass thread should you discover the pump is toast.....
