Apparently the mechanic cleaned up the caliper pins and lubed them so the pads could move better?? I did tell the service manager that he should have done this anyway with a standard brake job! He agreed.

I’ve been following your thread of your experience and will 100% agree that those caliper pins should be lubed and standard procedure during any brake job.Apparently the mechanic cleaned up the caliper pins and lubed them so the pads could move better?? I don't think you can get rotors turned anymore; shops just replace them! It doesn't matter how big the rotor is, 8 thousand out is 8 thousand out. Are they both out or just one of them? The shop should make it right, but they aren't going to. If they were going to stand behind the work they wouldn't give it back to you and say it was better, better aint good enough, it is either fixed or it isn't!!! Bite the bullet and take it to the Harley dealer and have them fix it. If you make an appointment and can wait for it, they might be able to take care of it in a few hours.
Agreed, ..especially if it’s only .004I still say find a shop to get them turned. I kept my old 07 FLHTC until I never rode it any. Sold it to my maintenance man. He loves it.
Not a problem @Arctic Fox !Well thanks all you guys! And thanks for the info and specs on the rotors 14TG I may get another chance to ride a bit today, only rode about 3 miles yesterday it did seem better.
I may look for someone who can still turn rotors to just true them up abit.
I've never pulled rear calipers (on a Trike) can I just un-bolt them and pull the rotors or do I have to deal with the emergency brake linkage etc?
I'm curious, how many miles are on your trike. I have 36,000 on my 17 and wondering how long before I need to replace mine.Got the trike back, took it for a quick spin seemed a lot better. Still noticeable but better. Probably the 3-4 thousandth run out. I'll take it on the trip and see how it does. So good to have it back! I love this thing, I want to get on it all the time! My lonely 013 Road glide sits in the shop and I don't miss it at all! With only 12.5k miles like new I don't plan on giving it away, so it looks like I will own it awhile!
Ain't it the truth.Gotta love Harley and their specs. If there is a problem just enlarge the spec. Problem solved.
