2013 fob security question

My fob has a new battery. Usually bike starts right up when I hop on and fob is in windshield “pocket”. But sometimes it doesn’t recognize the fob is present. If I take it out and hold the fob the trike starts. So the question is where is the receiver and antenna (if it has one)? I’m assuming inside the fairing?

I don't know the answer but my 13 does the same thing.

Well I started the thread before I googled. Looks like it's under the seat around the battery and ECM. I'll see if I can see anything there that looks out of place.

Guess I always figured the antenna was a flexible wire.
