Dealer called this morning, new trike is in. Hauled the 16 over & they will start moving some parts . All tires to be swapped as I just got a new Avon on the front & Goodyears on the rear. Garage door opener , seat, Trike Mirror Polished SS Wheel Disc, Reach handlebars,Edge Cut grips & a few other things.

Also they are going to see if they can swap that vent in the fairing. HD in all their combined idiotic wisdom, did away with the closing button. Prob saved them a $1. Anyway SM thinks he can swap it. I hope so. Don't like to ride with it open. And of course the week end is going to turn to (&^&%.. At least it will be ready for the Hill Country mid April.:clapping::clapping::clapping::clapping:

I'm surprised you put new tires on your old one since you are trading unless you did this before you decided to trade. Did you have a different kind of seat on your 16 and if yes just take off and put the other one on or maybe you had your had your 16 seat redone and that is why. Don't blame you for keeping the SS wheel disc, one of these days I'm going to ordered them myself.

I agree harley sure screwed up on getting rid of the button on fairing, what was they thinking of, the bean counters that did this don't ride. Don't forget to ask for extra fob and tell them you want a rear shifter also, just a thought. I imagine you will be stomping at the bits to get out and ride it for sure. Congrats, need pics sometime

All for now Trampas

Yes tires were done before a trip last year, only 5000 on them. Avon front & Goodyears on the rear. I already have the shifters. No big deal to add just need to cut that rubber spacer to 3/4". The shaft is long enough to add a shiftlever.

Seat has been done with memory foam & gel. Wife sat on the new one & told SM to swap the seats. It will be a while before it comes home,as once they put chemicals on the roads, My SM wont road test bikes & throw that crap underneath the bikes. I left my trailer there so when it is ready weather is not an issue.

Congrats...!!!!

Another proud Papa!

Can’t wait to see it in person and that big smile on your faces!

We’ll leave the light on for ya here in Kerrville.

Great news :clapping:

I asked about the vent (my friend is a Harley owner) and as you stated you cant close the vent. Will test ride it in the wet no doubt :xzqxz:

Excellent news Bill, congrats on it coming in earlier than expected.

Have to thank my dealer for that. They called HD & said "look,we have this bike SOLD, no reason one can't be here sooner" and one got shipped a couple days after the call. I didn't even ask them to do that, they did it on their own. This is my 4th new bike from these guys.

I will try to let ya know if the vent works out.

Guess I’m in the minority as regards deletion of the vent . . . or others like me just haven’t chimed in. Personally I never ever closed the vent and I’ve ridden in some frog choking rain and never had a problem. I do wear a modular helmet so if perhaps I used an open face helmet ⛑ it would be an issue. But for me not being able to close the vent isn’t a problem.

Is this our local Dayton dealer.

Plus 1 on this.

I agree with you on this. I always leave it open because it really helps with modular or 3/4 helmet buffeting. Doesn't seem to make any difference in the rain either way, but in a heavy rain I close it until I stop somewhere. I don't ride in what I call heavy rain. Too many idiots on the roads in dry weather, let alone hard rain!

Not a lot of fun when a vehicle passes you and pulls right back in front of you when it is raining hard.

I never close the vent either. Mainly because I have the H-D windshield pouch which partially covers the opening and so I don't even see it. "Outta sight, outta mind" thing I guess! The pouch is raised above the opening so it still allows air to flow through, but it's never been an issue when riding in the rain. Guess that's the other reason I don't close it.
