I have had enough of this trike. Key fobs don't work. When trike gets warm, it enters limp mode and won't go over 65, plus the mileage goes to about 15 and it get so hot it will burn your leg. The dealership claims the dreaded "not able to duplicate customers concern. ". Funny thing, I can ride it until it gets warm enough to go into eitms then runs like crap. Let it cool down and it is fine. Clutch intermittently will be limp for half the travel, then will fix itself.

So I have decided it has to go. It sprayed oil all over me on the way home when new and hasn't gotten any better. I think I must have gotten a Monday built bike. When it runs good, it is a pleasure to ride. When it is cutting up, I'd like to blow it up. And it never cuts up at the dealership.

Next week I will be going back to an Ultra Limited but will still continue to check in becuase I like the people here and the information I read. Not everything here pertains only to trikes.

See you guys around. Thanks for the ride !

I can understand where your coming from, I had a Monday trike once [Spyder] And i dumped it for a Tri-Glide...But unlike the Spyder forum you'll still be welcome here.. Trike or not.

So drop in from time to time to chew the fat with all of us... You'll always be welcome..ThumbUp

There are times when one gets fed-up with "issues" on something brand new, and unfortunately it sounds like you are simply at that point.

If it were me in your position Steve, I'd keep it for 1 year regardless of these nagging issues. Its still under warranty and as long as the dealer honors it in full, there should not be any more cash out of your pocket laid out on it.

I would try to get reimbursed for any $$ you might have paid to get it hauled back to the shop for work. IF the dealer is a standup guy or gal, they should work with you on that?

After the 1 year point IF the issues still persist without resolution, I'd trade it.

Perhaps the M8 will have enough real world mileage by then?

Your trike being a first year model, unfortunately takes time for the MoCo to work the "kinks" out & unfortunately for you, you are one of the unlucky ones to get hit with negative issues.

Best of luck with it going forward & on your decision to cut your losses, so to speak...

Search for a new dealer

I would try to find a different dealer and discuss the problems you have had with it. It is really sickening when you get where you are I would be in Harleys Ear everyday to get it straightened out. Good luck with your Triglide.:shout: Fred

May I suggest that you request a meeting with the regional rep. Be prepared with complete dates and details of what happened. It may or may not do some good. Also see if your state has a lemon law and if so does it apply to your trike. I used that law on a new truck. I got a replacement at no cost. GOOD LUCK

I agree with Gorilla Get a meeting with the area rep. I did it on 09 SERG and he replaced that bike with a new one. Doc

I know you have had issues in the past, thought maybe you got them cured so to speak. As some of the posters above said, go to a different dealer, meet with a rep or send a letter to corporate and explain everything to them on what been happening or call corporate and talk to them, beginning to agree with you that it is a Monday or a Friday bike, Friday meaning they want to get out of there, Monday means they are hung over, whichever, there inspection process needs to be better.

I know quite a few on here have the 2017 and love it, have to agree you got a lemon and they do have laws about that, not sure if they do where you live but I would think the lemon law applies to all states IMHO. Hate to see you get rid of it without a fight with Harley to resolve this to your liking.

All for now Trampas

Unfortunately the lemon law in SC does not include motorcycle or boats so I am out to dry. The experience has been great when there are no issues and terrible when there are. I am just fed up with it to the point of not trusting it to get me back home. One thing I failed to mention was that I bought the title because my wife wanted it. Unfortunately I lost her to cancer after a 22 day hospital stay. She passed away on April 18. The trike was her pick. Hi have tried to ride it but between the issues and the memories. It is leaving my garage.

Thanks to all of you for the advice and the friendship. I may go trike again. I will be back from time to Tim we to say hello and to update you. Ride safe my friends

Steve, Under those circumstances...Your doing the right thing...Sorry for your loss..

Like i said before, Don't make yourself a stranger here...

So very sorry for your loss. Losing one's spouse is not an easy thing. As for the trike, I would have to agree with your assessment. It is time to put it behind you and as long as you can safely ride on two wheels, I say go for it. You can always come back to three when the time comes.
