The rates for the Best Western in Maggie Valley are $76.49 per night. Our reserved nights are 9/03/18, 9/04/18, 9/05/18 and 9/06/18. This is a great rate considering it falls on Labor Day. We have 30 rooms reserved, you must tell the Best Western Staff that you are with the Trike Talk Group and you must be registered on this registration page in this thread to confirm, as I am told that this rate is just for our members.

We will be calling to confirm with the Best Western staff that those who have called to register with them are on our member's approved list or your room reservation will be cancelled.

Register and see who registered using the links below

Also, just so there is no confusion, if you are planning on arriving early and or staying later than 9/03 - 9/06, be sure to check the rates for the days other than 9/3 through 9/6 before you book extra days, as those days (Friday, Saturday, Sunday) are considered weekend rates and are not included in our discount rates. I was not quoted for those days, but I know they did say that they would be substantially higher as it is Labor Day weekend. If it works out that you get a good rate for those days great!

If anyone has a quote for those extra days please post them here. Another thing, booking this far in advance, you may or may not get a cheaper quote for those days than if they are booked later on, as rooms sell out they tend to get higher in price. Just an FYI.

Maggie Valley 2018 Information

Thanks Zook for making the arrangements.ThumbUp

I hope both you and Marge are able to relax with us this year.

I will be staying in my usual Maggie Valley summer rental again this year.

Please include me on the registration list for our event.

I sincerely look forward to seeing and riding with our group once again.:D

Well we talked about it and decided to go ahead a book a room. I hope we wont have to cancel, and we wont unless there is just no way around it.....we could use some relaxation and fellowship. Arriving Sunday 9/03 checking out Friday 9/07. Michael still has our grill he bought for us there so we can throw some burgers, hotdogs and sausages on the grill when and as we want and of course we will have some cold beverages on hand. Lets Party!

They were also starting work on an area with picnic tables out back while we were there last year.

Doug PMed me to let me know the 'who has registered' list is blank, but when I checked the actual form on our end, everyone who has registered is listed there. I showed the issue to Marge and she is fixing it now. Thanks for the heads up Doug.

It is GREAT to see that our Gathering will be a happening!

Working good now! Tell Marge thanks Zook!

Sara and I had two issues frustrating our being at Maggie this year. One is that Sara just retired and money is tight, and the other is that our 6' toy or peanut sized Yorkie loves trike rides and loves people. Well, thanks to our IT son Victor who extensively travels throughout the USA, we now have a motel room for a full weeks stay covered by his comp room points. The other issue was what to do with our Yorkie... Best Western has a no pets rule, however my son talked to the manager and it turned out the motel has several pet rooms they do not advertise for an extra $10 a night, so now we can take CeCe with us. She is a quiet little lady who is a thinker and not a "yipper," and since she is a lover, if you see CeCe come up and say hi to her! Unfortunately we will be billeted out back, but hey, at least we have a room.

Then there was our Toyota Corolla trike... The trike didn't have any usage last year thanks to a serious transmission fluid leakage issue. Over the winter I picked up a used transmission and had it installed, and much to the chagrin of me (and my check book), the thing leaked worse than the old transmission. Then I discovered that AutoZone sells re-manufactured "zero hour" transmissions that have a 3 year warranty, and should you have any problems with the transmission, AutoZone pays the bill! The radiator had to be replaced also to honor the transmission warranty, and I discovered a company that sells "lifetime warranty" radiators. So it looks like I again have an ultra reliable super handling trike, praise God!

As usual, Sara and I will be doing the Blessing of Trikes & Trikers at our TT Gathering. We have done this for several years now, and we will enjoy seeing everyone again and summoning (requesting really) God's blessings on our trikes and our lives! (Make sure you hunt Sara or me down should we somehow miss you.)

Apparently we still have rooms available to us at Best Western, so if you run across other trikers, invite them to our Gathering! I can't wait for our "front porch" discussions to get underway, they are the frosting on the cake for our Gathering!

We are looking forward to seeing everyone the first week of September in Maggie, in the meantime - be happy, healthy & blessed!

Now that your having a North Carolina Rally does this mean that Catskill Acram New York will not be held???

Just checking in here

Thank you,

Ronnie

Chaplain Dave,

I didn't realize the problem with your Corolla Trike was that it was leaking. If I had know that, I could have sent you some HD emblems to replace the Toyota emblems and you could have driven it....:clapping::clapping::clapping: Of course I would have also sent you a healthy supply of rags and a drip pan:D:D

things are work are getting scary. I'm guessing that by June I will no longer have a job here. At this time still planning on attending MV in Sept.

If they lay me off or close the doors, I will be selling my house and just about everything else (except the trike). I will be moving south..... location is still unknown but may hang my hat in Greer SC for a bit before moving on to Florida.

funny how fast life can change. You can go from the Penthouse to the Outhouse in the blink of an eye.

No, that is a seperate gathering.

Aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa good,

Zook, please keep me posted about the Catskill rally, I'm very interested in attending that rally...

BUT I'M LOOKING FOR SOMEONE(s) TO RIDE UP WITH (safe'r in numbers riding that distance) and or better yet someone to share a room with (cheaper on the wallet) plus it would give me and the other person someone to hang with....When after riding all that distance, alone and still not know anybody it does kinda suck, when most of the folks are (I'm assuming) are coupled up... OK

Wife has too work, and can not take all that time off (*plus she's not really interested in riding all that distance anyways*)

So if anybody needs a roommate and a riding partner let me know ok- I'd be coming in from Springfield, Massachusetts

Zook, you have my telephone number, (it was in my PM's that I sent your about the mis-dated check) please if yea hear of anybody, PLEASE let me and them know (if yea need my number again I'll send it to you ok?)

Ronnie

Chaplin Dave, I am so glad things worked out for you and Sara to attend MV this year for the whole week! My wife, Becky and I are looking forward to seeing you again this year!

Leakage problem...

I thought of that also, but A/T fluid is red and the garage floor was starting to look like I was bleeding to death! (The truth be known, I HATE leaks of any kind on what I drive. Forget to check the fluid level, and you just bought the farm!)

You can't find a cheaper place to live than eastern Tennessee, it's part of the reason why Sara and I moved here 10 years ago!

I will keep you in prayer bro, going from the penthouse to the outhouse is not a fun trip!
