To All Our Vets...

View attachment 49699Alejandro Villanueva, former Ranger, the only Steeler to stand outside of the locker room at the Steelers/Bears game.

And now Steeler coach Tomlin has ripped Villanueva for lack of team spirit and unity for not sticking with his teammates in their protest.

Like I said, don't broadcast any of these protest, don't show them on TV....remove their audience.

Tomlin never served, he's a real pos. Below is a quote from Wikipedia:

Controversy

On September 24th 2017 Tomlin announced that the Steelers would not be leaving the locker room for the national anthem. Several other teams also took this action in so the Steelers were not alone. Tomlin later criticized Alejandro Villanueva for not participating with the rest of the team. This drew criticism as Villanueva was a former Army Ranger who had been on three deployments to Afghanistan and Tomlin himself has never served.

VN vets coming out

I served with the USMC in Vietnam in '68-69, don't talk about it, but just sit and watch as people give their opinions, they have changed a lot over the years.

The current disrespect for the symbols of freedom is discussing.

I have traveled to The Wall and seen the names of friends and relatives, I have been to Arlington, Tomb of the Unknown Solider and the changing of the guard.

I have seen and heard the Marine Corp Band and the Silent Drill Team

Thanks to all that have served.

This Thursday evening would have normally been a big football watching night with lots of messages back and forth because of who was playing. That won't happen and I will find something else to do. Probably watch my Cubs play their last game of the season in St. Louis, unless this crap bleeds over into baseball.

one other thing. I suggest that Trump takes over the air waves by using the Emergency Broadcast System right before the Super Bowl is to begin. play the National Anthem continuously over and over and over till the game is over.

this way he screws over the NFL and all those advertisers who support this crap. game over!

I, too, have had my fill and will be joining with you. Jerry Jones has stated that any Dallas Cowboy who disrespects the flag and what it stands for will have to find employment elsewhere in the NFL, but that will not apply to the teams they play. So, enough of the NFL, and Dallas, Texas for that matter.

Turns out that the statement attributed to Jones about players being released for disrespecting the flag and anthem was fake news. Should have researched a little more there. Apologies.

The players are disrespectful to the military and the country and the 'Greedy' NFL will want to line their pockets with the money from the sales of 'Salute to the Services' merchandise. They can stick it where the sun doesn't shine, don't use our military to make money.

Thank you for your service.

I don't know if the players showing this type of disrespect for the flag will end up snowballing and costing them and the owners money or not. If it does then you can bet the practice will end. The league will end up just making a rule that there will be no National Anthem prior to games starting, problem solved.

It amazes me that they can disrespect the flag in this manner and then claim it has nothing to do with the flag. That would be like me carrying a poster of someone hitting a NFL player with a semi and claiming it represents a protest over the rising price of fuel. If they want to protest and speak out about police brutality, or inner city issues, then wear something on their uniforms indicating that......oh no, wait a minute, that is against league rules and they would be fined!

It was 1972 and we were over 9,500 miles from home. Being typical 18 year olds we made plans for meeting up back in the world. We would each buy a Harley and spend a year traveling the country. Lost track of each other of course. We all got busy with careers and family in our different parts of the country after the war. Two got cancers related to Agent Orange, one died last summer and one is still fighting. The jury is still out on me.

Put the house on the market and sold it in 10 days. When we close next month we will set ourselves up in an RV and start traveling the country full time. We will be towing the Trike. Don't know if we can do it for 2 years, or 10 years, but my goal is to explore each and every State and log at least 1,000 miles in all of them.

Hope you find your dream.....When i got out in 67 i had the same dreams, But somehow life had a way of throwing a monkey wrench into the best laid plans...

Keep us posted on your travels.....ThumbUp

Life has a way of taking us places we never knew we would be. My belief is, where you are right now is where you are supposed to be.

When you are in NM or west TX, you have to let me know and we will log a few miles and tell a few war stories.

Be safe. Jim

Jim, bought my first motorcycle when I was 20 years old and living on base at WSMR right next door to you. We have been back to that area a couple times since, once by RV and once on our Ultra Classic. We certainly will be back in the next 12 to 18 months and I will give you a shout.

Apparently I'm late to this party.

I was a Missile Technician on 2 different SSBN's in the late 70's & mid 80's.

USS Woodrow Wilson SSBN 624G & the USS JAMES K. POLK SSBN 645G

In between that, I did 3.5 years at the FBMSTC in Charleston, SC.

Hey NFL...Take A Lesson From MLB

What a start to game 7 of the WS tonight, especially after what recently happened in New York. A group of police officers singing the National Anthem and all the players on both teams standing!

No one trying to "send a message", no one trying to protest anything. Professional players showing respect for our country and setting an excellent example for our youngsters. Maybe in a few years MLB will truly be America's favorite sport again and the NFL will be watched about as much as mud wrestling.

The online access to the Exchange is now open to most everyone that served

My dad is a long time Marine (24+ years) and I was in the AF from 73 to 77. He gets a lot of military related emails and forwarded me on the news about this. I was able to sign up for online access to the exchange stores. Here's the blurb and link:

Veterans can now verify their online shopping eligibility at VetVerify.org. The Exchanges are also accepting some veterans as beta testers before opening the doors to all veterans. See updates below for more information.

I was verified and also selected to beta test. Still looking around the sites to compare prices and such.

The only thing I didn't like about the site is that they wanted my full SSI they said they couldn't verify me with just the last 4 digits, so I didn't sign up.

Let us know if it is worth it. I know when I was in (66 to 70) you could by a lot of stuff cheaper at the local places. You had to compare.

Tried But Too Soon?

I have two BIL's with PX privileges. One lost his legs in VN and the other one was a career NCO. They told me about the sign up site last week and I tried it. It took all my information but wouldn't complete the process, maybe I was too early so I will try it again this week.

It is my understanding that their prices are pretty good plus you never pay tax on your purchases.

Some of my Brothers here.

I'm on the bottom left, with the Combat Vet sleeves and hat on!

I saw on my phone where you sent me a message, I could not find that message on the computer, I hope I give you the right response. I am a member of CVMA. Been a member since 2008, road name "DC" (Desertclassic) I live in the Southwest desert and I am an old classic. I am the second original member to join from NM. The other guy passed on due to agent orange, so I hold the longevity for NM. I have filled all the officer positions except the Commander, and am now the Chaplain for 47-1. I have had some medical issues the past year, agent orange stuff, and have not been as active as the past. I hope to get back on course soon. Ride safe.

Jim I was hoping to find Brothers of the CVMA here!

I'm an old member as well. My # is 615 Road name HarleyBob. I live 50 miles west of New Orleans.

Never wanted to hold an office but respect those that do. I know it can be a lot of work.

I'm 70 but still work. I play music so don't have much spare time. I will re-fire (retire) in a year.

So with the new trike and more time I will do more with the CVMA! I plan on giving my time playing music to help Vets, I can do that now! I have a music page. "Bob Josey's Music" on FaceBook. With Videos of me playing in Bars.

You ever get in this area give me a shout! Nice talking with you Brother!

Let me be the 1st to say Happy Veterans Day 2017 to all who served.

I did just shy of 11 years in the Submarine Service.

Make sure you take advantage of the many offers to Vets.

I have a free haircut, lunch at Applebees & a carwash lined up.

Enjoy it because I know we earned it.
