I bought a set of HD Chrome Switch housings. I also bought a set of Chrome Switch covers. While out on a ride, I noticed the Switch cover for the headlight High/Dim was missing. What the hell. I looked down and the cap was between my leg and the gas tank. I gave my wife the cover for safe keeping. When I got home, I installed it again. It has a distinct snap when installed. Sounded good to me. Well, while on another 2 day ride, I noticed the cover was gone again. This time I couldn't find it. Has anyone else have any similar issue with this?

Can't help you on this, I know I have the chrome switch housing on my 2 other bikes, but I left the black covers to help off set the chrome, personally I thought with the chrome covers was to much chrome and the black really helps it stand out, plus I can see it better with these old eyes.

Good luck on trying to figure this out

All for now Trampas

I think your right Trampas. It's probably better to use the black covers instead of the chrome covers. Just for giggles, I think I'll put the black one back on just to see if it flies off. If it doesn't, I just might see if I can order another chrome one. I know just by feel, where the right switches are located. But chrome looks so cool.

Well, I put my stock (black) switch cover back on. I went for a 250 mile ride yesterday. Sometime during my ride, the cover fell off. I know I put it on correctly. It snapped when it went on the switch. So now I don't have a cover to put back on. I can't figure it out. Anyone else having issues?

Sounds like you may have broke a retainer pin in the switch. Just a thought because those buttons don't come off easy that they should be falling off. Is it the same button and the rest are staying put?

Ya, It's the same one. Headlight/Bright's. The rest are all OK. Now I either have to buy another set of caps or see if the dealer has one sitting around. The switch itself operates just fine. Just don't have a cover on it.

Einstein once said: Insanity is doing the same thing over and over ' And expecting different results 😱 Before I would get new covers I would dig into it a little deeper šŸ“ž

Ya, I will dig deeper. I thought maybe other's might have had the same issue. I'll stop in at the dealer sometime and see what they think. Not going to buy any cover's till I find a solution. Thanks. Jerry

If you still have some of the chrome ones on then I would remove them before taking it in.

They are Original HD brand. From a HD dealer.

Okay but my point was the dealer MIGHT say that the switch mounting pin for the cap was broke when you changed out the caps from the stock black to the chrome. Then again they just may fix it under warrantee.

Well I've been to 2 dealerships. Both said I had to buy the whole kit, because the cover I needed was not sold separately. They had a listing for the OEM cover. But that was $15.00 for just the one cover. So I looked on Ebay and found a set of chrome one's much cheaper from China. Probably, that's where Harley gets them. Anyway, I got them within a week. Installed the cover. I felt much better this time. Had the right click that the instructions said it should have. Been cold here in Iowa, so I haven't had a chance to ride lately. I'm thinking on putting some kind of net around the switches to make sure I don't loose another cover. We shall see. Jerry
