Have any of you with the Mountain Trike Coupler installed on your CSC Trike pulled your drive shaft to lubricate the front (engine end) splines of the driveshaft? I was going to do this on my GL1800 yesterday and once I get the 3 large nuts off on the rear end of the drive line I can't get enough forward play to clear the studs from the rear end flange. Is there something I missing or doing wrong?

Stan had the answer to the question. Took about 30 minutes to get the job done after I talked to him. :clapping:

I've had Stan's coupler on my GL1800 CSC trike now for 2 years and 12,000 miles and it's the assembly that CSC should have developed. Much smoother than the rubber coupler and now getting 41 mpgs. Love what Stan's coupler has done for my 2010 Cobra XL Trike. :Coffee:

Mountain Trike Coupler for GLtrike driveshaft

Well haven't posted in a while. Update now have about 25,000 miles on my trike and it's as smooth as silk. I'm still getting 41 mpg since adding the Mtn trike coupler. I switched over to Valvoline Synthetic 10/40 oil and shifts smoother. I've had the driveshaft off twice and lubed the coupler and the splined shaft into the transmission and all is well. Just love how easy my trike is to move around now with Mtn trikes coupler. Couldn't move it around by hand with the rubber flex coupler that CSC installed. If I now park my trike on a slight grade it will back out on it's own by holding in the clutch lever. If you're having problems with driveline binding call Stan at Mtn. Trikes He has the solution. Keep the blue side up. Ride safe :)

Maybe CSC should contract Stan to use his unit as OEM
Just a thought
Over the winter I pulled out my Stan drive shaft & bought the CSC drive shaft upgrade it was about $500. with shipping , It removes that Stupid gear box that's weighs 27LBS with 22 pounds of rotating gears & bearings , It requires removing the complete trike kit to get the gear box out , My trike shifts so much better , better on gas ,rolls better. While it was out the rear shock was leaking $500. from CSC, from QA1 on ebay $125. Repacked the rear axles , cut off the cats & put the torque loop cat eliminators on it , sounds better but I do not think it runs any better ? AND while I had the body off I had it on a rack dragged it outside to get it out of the way turn around to walk back in the barn I hear a crash the body flipped off the rack BOUNCED about three feet in the air & FD Up the other side Looked like it fell off the back of a pickup going down the road at 80 , so I had to repair & paint the body .

Brings up a # of ?'s, as I am always trying to learn:
Does Stan have a drive shaft that fit's the older CSC's, prior to the "transfer" case that attempted to align the rear w/the Wing's output but, "didn't"?
Was there a reason(s) you removed Stan's drive shaft? Or did you just want to get rid of that "extra" set of gears?
Sorry to hear about the body damage.
In my feeble mind, one of the reasons I went w/the Hannigan was the rear end is off set to align w/the Wings output. This IMO, places a lot less stress on U-joints and results in a lot less shaft maintenance.

The reason I replaced my drive shaft was to get rid of the gear box , nothing wrong with Stans drive shaft , Jonesy stopped by with his 2012 CSC with the new style drive shaft & if left in newtral it would roll away , mine would not roll on a hill . with the new drive shaft it has less pitch on the ujoints than a new rear wheel drive pickup , the gear box just has so much play in it ,it was like a half turn in the drive shaft . As for the body it had some chips & crap from the last owner needed paint anyway , so that made me half to paint it ???

I am having mine triked with the CSC kit in July. This is the first I heard of the Shaft issue and it is concerning at the least. By your statement above it sounds like CSC fixed the problem. Is that true or did they just mask it? If they did fix it, is it the same technology as Mountain Trikes??

I found this photo of the newest drive shaft with the ABS upgrade in the PDF installation manual with a release date of 4-15-2015.
