2014 Trailer hitch ?

A quick look at the MCHitch site and the Bushtec site says yes, appears 2011 and up are the same. If it were me I would call the nice people at Bushtec and ask.

The trike frame is the same the hitch will work. Bushtec web site shows milti year fitment. Bushtec has a plug and play wire harness that works on the 14's. The only thing you have to do is connect it to the battery. I have a Bushtec hitch and harness on my trike.

Unfortunately, it will not! BushTec says it will but it will not! Just talked with them again for the 4th time today and they have finally admitted that they had not put one on a 2014 as yet. Hopefully they will get busy now and come up with a solution!

Looks like Rivco is doing the same thing as Buschtech, Rivco states their hitch fits 2011 and up. Its odd it doesn't fit because there hasn't been any indication that Harley has made any changes in the back of the Triglide for 2014.

Maybe they just haven't test fit it as yet. Moe55 said he has the Bushtec on his '14. So it must fit unless they changed something after his issue. Doubt it tho.

So If I understand you. After all the days the HD shop had your New Trike. They couldn't figure out how to install the trailer hitch off your 2012 ?? So how are you going to pull your trailer to AZ this fall ??

As I understood him to say: the 2014s do not have the holes drilled into the trunk as the 2011 did and there has been a piece of channel iron added. In order to drill these holes to bolt the hitch up the entire body has to be taken off...time consuming and no exact instructions to do so..thus a possibility of another costly error. BushTec was not aware of this change so had stated that the same hitch for the 2011 (that we previously had) should fit on the 2014 (that we now have). Fortunately the dealership has not charged us for any of their labor or time already consumed on this project!

Hopefully BushTec solves this issue by coming up with a new technique for installing or a new hitch entirely. We already have the 'plug and play' for the wiring purchased and waiting..waiting...waiting. Well maybe we won't be taking the trailer with us to AZ this fall!

As I said there is a Bushtec trailer hitch on our 2014 trike. When it was posted here that it fit but was the wrong one. Dealer did install the hitch. Only because they will honor the warranty but if they had to take it off if factory had to look at the trike they wanted to know how to take it off. I went and checked to see how it was attached.

The bolts they used to attach it are a smaller diameter than the ones shipped with the hitch. They are grade 8 bolts with nuts. Don't know why they did that? Maybe that is why they said it would fit but was not correct? Have been towing the trailer for over 5,000 miles so far no problems hitch is tight.

They did not have a harness for a long time because of the change in the connectors and Harley was not consistent in using the same connectors for the rear.

I sent Bustec many pictures of various connectors back last August when ours was first delivered. Bushtec is also connected directly to a Harley dealer. They told me they installed several hitches and harness on 14's before they would sell me the harness.

This is my experience with Bushtec and the hitch on our trike.

:( Hey Mama: 1st of all you have 2 options. Either ship it to AZ. Or behind the trailer that has the Trike in it. :D

As BikerMama mentioned. The 14's have a piece of channel iron in the rear cross member that was not there on my 2011.

I am currently modifying my set-up (bumper/hitch combo) from my 2011 to fit the 2014.

I purchased the Revco hitch....the rear two bolts matched up no problem...a bar that came with the kit with holes was not used...the holes on the 14 was not drilled all the way thru so I tossed out the bar. There were two other holes on the hitch that did match up to two pre drilled holes on the same channel where the bar would had went....I hope this helps with some future 14 owner installers....

They have a easy install hitch and a new wire harness for the Tri Glide 2014's.
HD has gone to a bus system due to the LCD screen set up, so unless you get the proper harness wired and grounded correctly, you could fry your system. I would not do any slice in wires cause in the bus system, similar to a computer,
may not be 12 volt and you can back feed, that would be very bad.
