Would You Buy a New Harley Trike?

Has Harley changed rake angle for better steering and improved ride quality on new trikes? I never see reviews of new trikes and there’s nothing mentioned on hd.com.
I always thought the steering on any tri glide I owned was more difficult than the Freewheeler. I rode down the parkway one year and buy the time I got to my destination I was sore and wore out.
The Freewheeler is much easier on me. I don't know if the rake angles are different or if it is the weight difference between the 2 models.

The tri-glide front fairing is attached to the front forks and that adds weight to the bars.

My 2023 Frewheeler only had 537 miles on it when I bought it last October. I haven't put many more miles on it before winter weather set in. The steering requires quite a bit of strength so I would probably get the raked triple trees for it.
You would be totally AMAZED how much better the rake kit make the steering!
Shame on HD MoCo for not doing this from the factory! (SMH)…. But the before and after really is that huge of a difference!
Check with @Papa Zook ….. Randy will get you fixed up with the perfect rake kit!

I assume the rake kit increases the rake. That would make the bike less twitchy on the hi-way and it would also make the steering a bit slower. I'm guessing that's around a grand or more, I can live with what I have! I'm just a poor country boy and besides that I'm used to the steering, no problem.

Yes, it adds more rake (gives it about 3-1/4” longer in length), but HIGHLY improves the steering…. No, the steering is not “slower” whatsoever.

But It’s literally like having power steering and practically effortless!
It is LESS than a grand … and worth EVERY penny if you can scrape up a little extra $$.

I don’t know how to describe it, but with the rake kit it feels like it always wants to go straight in the lane like it is self centering. I don’t feel the need to constantly correct the bike and when I do, it’s effortless then returns to center again. I farm and it’s kind of like pushing the autosteer button in the tractor to plant a straight row.

At the end of the ride, I’m less fatigued both physically and mentally from not having to focus as hard “driving” the bike but rather just enjoy riding it.

I understand and I didn't mean the trike was slower, the steering doesn't react as quickly with more rake and is more stable at speed. The chasis reacts slower to any steering input! You may not have noticed but that is the reason it seems to want to go straight down the road.

nope I`ll just keep my old 06 motor trike Im old and don`t need all them bells and whistles and if I did it would be the other brand
