Windshield… Look Over or Look Through? Your Preference and Why…

Up until we triked the bike I was a over the windshield type of guy. Now using an F4 I've enjoyed looking thru it. Big difference when what your looking thru is crystal clear even in blinding sunlight.

It's still short enough to accommodate those rare times when looking over is needed.

I am in the "look over top" camp but on the Goldwings, unless aftermarket, they are adjustable. As long as weather is clear, and when it's colder, I don't mind looking through. Mostly though, it is set at the lowest position.

On more than a few times, I have been caught out riding in humid and/or foggy conditions and had the windshield fog over on me. One particular occasion, I blasting down an interstate at highway speeds through the mountains in the middle of the night and was not able to see where I was going! Lucky for me, I could stand on the pegs to see over but you can only do that for so long...

Just to add, after driving all day and being west bound in late afternoon, windshield layered with bug guts, looking over top is needed for safety. My past windshields have been susceptible to scrapes and gouges unless they are carefully cleaned off. I usually have a bottle of hydrogen peroxide/water with me that does a great job of dissolving the bugs. Also a can of Pledge and several micro fiber cloths.

I lQQk through it, I purchased an extra, large sized shield for my Goldwing

My windshield is set so I can look over it. I can adjust the windshield (electric windshield) so the air flow mostly flows over the top of my helmet. For me, looking through two pieces of polycarbonate creates too much of a distortion.
