I have a 2019 Tri Glide...The current bag on the windshield came with the trike and now the "pleather" is pealing off the body of the 3 pouches. I want to get a new one of a much better quality. My issue is, I also have a newer iPhone in an OtterBox defender case. The larger Pro Max model. The phone is 7" tall and 3.5" wide. I want the middle pouch to be able to hold my phone comfortably sideways without having to try and force this thing down in there with a come along and a shoe horn. But I also want top quality leather. Anyone have any suggestions on where to look, what to consider to buy, or any advice at all? Am I the only person with this issue? If you have also had this problem...By all means educate me. TIA !!

Try the Leather Works in French Camp, CA, if they dont have one they will make one to your SPECs…….. have not been there for several years but I know they make QUALITY items/do custom work also.

Check out Leatherworks or LaRosa for quality bags that fit larger phones. Look for magnetic closures or flexible pouches, or try a custom leather shop. Good luck!

I have a 3 pouch with the magnetic closures on my 21 and I just tried my 12 pro max with a otter box , it fits in there but very snug, there would be no way to put it in there plugged IMG_5484.jpegIMG_5483.jpeg

Perhaps we can look at this another way. What is your overall goal? Just a place to carry your phone or, you want to be able to make phone calls, listen to music, etc.

Once we know that, there might be some different solutions.

Really just a place to hold my phone. I have bluetooth, navigation, and all that stuff. So a center pouch to hold my phone, a left pouch to hold my key, and a right pouch to hold a charging cord or two.

Thanks - I recall having the same concerns.

So, I simply put my phone in the trunk. Since, like you, I have navigation, bluetooth and much more, there was really no need for me to have the phone nearby.

Plus, now my phone is a flip-smartphone, so I often leave it in my pocket.

Finally, I ran a cable from the cubby to my trunk. If needed, I can plug my phone if for constant charging plus a few other things. That cable was like, $10.

Enjoy and great chatting with you here.

Have my '21 Freewheeler setup that way. Extension into the trunk connected to a dual USB port and a pouch on the side wall to keep the phone from moving around in the trunk and I can charge it when needed. I do have a single pouch leather fairing bag I keep a portable backup battery in that I can plug into the phone if it's in the handlebar mount for GPS usage and I need to keep it charged.

I have that same exact 3 pocket window bag/pouch...All the fancy smooth faux leather is coming off of it. It's the whole reason I'm looking to replace it.

I recently purchased a windshield bag for my 19 TG. I really like it but I don't like the fact that after it rains or a washing, it traps water between the windshield and the back of the windshield bag. After several days of riding, you can still see it's wet behind the bag. Maybe I'm too picky but I took the bag off.

I'm not fond of the windshield bag anymore but I miss having one too.
It was a perfect place for all the little stuff.
2 reasons I went without,
ONE, it makes my beard stick straight out when riding because it changes the wind dynamics.
TWO, the moisture trapped between the bag and windshield is a real pain to get clean and dry.

I opted for a smartphone handlebar mount on the left side with a charging wire because I use phone NAV. instead of the HD NAV. for obvious reasons and stream my music.

Not understanding the problems with the bag placement I'm reading in this thread. If it's mounted to the back of the fairing/windshield it shouldn't get wet and should have no effect on wind turbulence. Here's how mines mounted. Been there since '21.Bag.jpg

My Harley windshield bag has held up pretty good on my 2019. I have had it on now for over 4 years. My iphones have never fit in the middle compartment of the windshield bag.

I have a handlebar mount and it is just easier to put it in there. If it starts looking like rain or my phone needs charged then it goes in the tour pack. I carry 3 of the Patriot solar charging packs so I can always charge and if on a trip re-charge the packs without plugging in.
