What did you do to Your Tri-Glide Today?

Kevin...........I get a woody just looking at those roadways without a pothole in sight...:D...I had to put adjustable shocks on my Slingshot to stop pogo sticking on the potholed roads out here........

Not a lot of potholes down this way. Dips in the road, but not many potholes. :)

Nope! :xzqxz: On the interstate system, bout the only sweepers are the on and off ramps.

Kevin

It really is nice down here. Having spent my adult riding life north of Chicago...Pot Holes every place ya look...if they filled them in they were bumpy as hell. Then you just put the bike away for 5 months over the winter. So nice to be in great weather and smooth roads!

Washed 4381 miles of bugs and road grime off. I am think it is about time to take the trunk off and clean and inspect all of the hidden stuff.

Finished Engine Cooling Fins

I made Enging Cooling Fins to help deflect air down toward the engine. Now they are painted and back on my freewheeler. I used two 5/16 rubber washers on each side of the fin.

Two Small Projects

I picked up an external breather system with catch can while at DK Custom Products. I read somewhere that without photos it didn't happen, so here they are.

P6020019.jpg

I had a couple of brass fittings from an oil pressure installation kit that fit the ports on the air filter adapter and used the hose that was eliminated to plug off the ports temporarily until I can get to the hardware store for some brass caps or plugs.

P6020020.jpg

I still need to polish the catch can.

P6020017.jpg

The hose and fittings are a really tight fit. I found it helpful to use some oil and I don't have a heat gun, so I found that a blow dryer provided plenty of heat to make the hose more flexible.

Next was to enlarge the drink holder to fit my large thermos. The small one is 16oz and the large is 24oz. I took the 16 on my Eureka trip and found it to be too small.

P6020025.jpg

P6020026.jpg

The 24oz was just a little too large to slip in the holder.

P6020024.jpg

I have a drill press and some die grinder bits so after about 30 minutes of grinding the rim I got it to slip all the way in. It is a little snug so I will need to get out and ride to see if it is too tight. If so there is still some material that can be ground out.

A couple of nice improvements. One which will improve the stage one process. Fuelmoto E series slip-ons will finish it.

Stainless steel braided hose

You may find stainless steel braided hose would look nicer running to the catch can and take the heat better.

I agree. Sometime in the future I would like to change all lines to steel braid. I think I will have that done by a shop so there will be some $$$ involved. I am pretty sure this will last till then but I very much agree that it will look much better.

I put my RideOn in my tires and put about 160 miles on to make sure it was well spread around. Checked my accrual mileage after installing my auto Tune Two up running around 60 most of the time. But meeting speed of traffic fast. We got 33.9. Not bad I was only getting about 34.5 to 35 out of my Ultra classic Both stage 1 with tuners, Riding the same way... The ultra was a 96" this is 103". I'm hoping bout the same pulling the bushtec with the trike as we got with the Ultra... Should have less wind drag since were wider now... Didn't notice any difference with the RideOn. But the trike only had 3400 miles on it when I got it.... Put it in for the stop leak...

Been riding it everyday the last 7 days. Won't be riding it for the next 3 weeks while I'm gone, so was getting some time in on it before leaving.

Really enjoying it more now that it's broken in. :)

Mail went little while ago. My air deflectors for the tank came... Got them installed... Now I have to fix lunch and go for a ride to see how they work... Its sunny and about 80... The things a guy has to do..... I think I like being retired. Got the camper on the truck yesterday, headed for Yellowstone Monday.

Get back and ride local for a few weeks, then Ride out to Sturgis for the 27th time... First time on the Triglide...

Changed out the seat {Finally} I went with the older Saddleman Sofa ~ It alllows me to use my HD Backrest ~ It fits with the hand rails {a must for my wife} and it's a butt load nicer than the HD options and I got it for $326....new. Gotta like that too!

Does this count?........

Saturday i visited my EX 17 Tri-Glide....Still sitting on the dealers lot...........
