What did you do to Your Tri-Glide Today?

Dealer visit.
Went to the dealership the other day. I was thinking my Compensator was making too much noise. The "tech" took it for a ride. Came back and said the Compensator was starting go bad, but was OK to drive for a while. ?? Also said my left muffler was loose. I got under it today and found the rubber cushion slide back. So I just slid it forward and it was no longer making any noise. Everything else was tight.

Curious if this was this a freebie or an HD($100)

Stopped for gas this morning on my coffee run…I think I was cutting it a little too close..It took 5.8 gallons to fill up….

You definitely don’t want that compensator to come apart in the primary, it will take out several other components!

My trunk push button was extremely loose and I was having a hard time getting the key in and out. Took it apart, the “U” retaining clip was too spread out, squeezed it back into position and reassembled it. “Voila”. Satisfaction… next re-torque my exhaust header nuts.. little more involved be cause I have to remove the chrome shields and the right radiator lower. Well not completely but enough to get to the header stud nut.

I have a new-to-me 2009 Tri Glade Ultra. Fortunately, I previously had a 2008 Ultra Classic and kept all my notes from 10 years of ownership and upgrades. Today's project concerns a fairing mount for my Garmin Zumo.

Lurking about did not reveal whether the Garmin Zumo XT is compatible with “Road Tech Zumo GPS Fairing Mounting Kit, p/n 92338-09, $55, advertised for mounting a Garmin 660/665. The answer is YES, if you also have the Zumo XT motorcycle base. (Probably all Garmin motorcycle bases can attach to the same mount, e.g., a Ram-Mount.) Also, there are parts in the H-D mounting kit that will connect the Zumo XT power lead to the accessory connectors in the headlamp loom.

However, because Garmin's motorcycle base for Zumo-XT is a simple 2-pin power connector, H-D cannot provide a wiring harness kit for audio system integration. Therefore, you must either depend on the Zumo XT external speaker (barely adequate in a car!) or will need to use wireless helmet communicators such as Sena or Cardo.

IMHO, this is a much better solution than still using H-D's '96-'13 comm system. (Caveat: if you need your CB radio, then plug in a handheld mic.) Newer bikes probably need a different fairing mount -- and I don't know if H-D does or will offer one.

Here's the link to the above kit:

Welcome Roger.

I bled my clutch and had a heck of time, but got it done, need to find some speed bleeders for it, have heard this is easy, if anybody knows what size let me know, it is a 2018 harley triglide and it is stock slave cylinder.

All for now Trampas

Just returned from a 12 day, 4500 plus mile trip from Chicago to Santa Monica riding/following old Route 66, then returned home through Utah and Colorado and Nebraska…

An epic journey to say the least! Stormy, super hot, and spectacular all in one package! …My Tri Glide preformed flawlessly in the heat (3 days above 110), AND on the road to Oatman.

Me? I need a day or so to recover before I attempt to remove some SERIOUSLY baked on bugs!

336 miles from Tupelo MS to home today . Three day total 806 miles . Dodged the rain most of the last hundred miles. LOL I got more wet walking from the gas pump into the store in the rain , than I did on the bike . Awesome trip !!

took the outer faring off and found a mouse nest, it has materials I dont have around here, I wonder if it came with it, the dealer leaves them outside during the day
well, got the old radio out, UPS tells me at 730pm they aren't coming today..
