I have a 1600 twin port engine in the trike, it has a webber carb fitted that is a bit on the rich side. Plugs look like they come from a coal mine. Have no idea what the MPG is.

Does anyone know what jetting these carbs come with, i am looking for a starting point is all. It does have a stainless exhaust buy i have no idea what make.

A pretty open question i know.

Is it one of the single carbs? One of the 2 barrel progressive or spread bore type? Give a model number so we can be sure to look up the correct factory jetting. ;)

I think it might be a WEBER 40 IDF, to know for sure means taking the body off which i do not want to do right at this minute.
I am in the middle of making a new clutch cable and want to get that done first along with a spare.
All i seem to be doing putting a 101 little things right. I was told by another triker that all he did for a long time was put right loads of things cobbled together,i now know what he means.
I haven't got the years left i would like to do everything i would like, but i do want to ride it.

I understand your frustration but to save you taking the body on and off several times due to the "experimenting changing jets routine" I'd take it to a dyno tuner and take the body off there. Then tune it and if the dyno guy doesn't have many weber jets then order a pack from ebay or the like. I recently bought a pack of 4 jets per location eg mains, airs, idles and accelerator.

Getting the jets right is a one step procedure but guessing will cause you dramas.

According to Weber, this is the factory jetting on a single 40 IDF:

Now, if your running an EMPI clone, Here is the catalog page that shows the jetting on the dual's and single 40 HPMX carbs:
