switch from dual webers to single carb

I am ready to switch from dual webers to my single carb in my tirke. Do I have to remove the fan shroud, alternator etc. I read on one of the sites you have to do this but it is on a car. It doesn't look like I would have to plus it would be a total pain in the ---. Has anyone do this and what did they have to do. It looks like it would be pretty simple. Any help. Thanks

I think your new intake system, with the heat risers being separate, should be able to mount without taking the shroud off. Of course it would be easier to mount up everything, but I would think you can do it without removing it.

That was nine years ago and we all are still waiting for the post. I wonder if it worked? Did he end up leaving it the way he wired it and high beam just means the top headlight? I just got a second headlight for my trike, so hopefully I will be able to wire correctly. The new light came with a sealed beam light while the one on the bike is an LED. I actually like the look of the sealed beam better. Am I going to run into problems if I run two incandescent headlights power wise? I haven’t even checked to see what they draw, better find that out early on. I also need to find a bracket, maybe like a squared off “u” shape to move the light out farther forward so I can mount it on the springer. The shock is in the way right now.

remember the Volkswagen alternator supported incandescent lights when it was in the car. Shouldn't be a problem.

Excellent point my friend. I’m in the middle of re-wiring the trike now and haven’t gotten to the headlights yet but will keep that in mind, now that I know I have options, I need to decide, I have two flood lights in addition to the headlights, I would still like some spots as well but haven’t gotten that far. Here is a picture of both lights, what does anyone else think? Please let me know.
