This morning I left on a three day ride with some of my regular riding friends from Dallas to Oklahoma City. I got about 50 miles from my home and stopped to gas up. I almost immediately smelled what I thought was coolant but turned out to be brake fluid. The lower brake line was touching the exhaust and had burned through and leaked everytime I pressed the rear brake pedal. There was about 1/2inch of fluid in the cylinder. I can't figure out how it managed to be touching but I suspect there is a guide of some kind that is missing and the slight slack in the brake line managed to contact the exhaust. It is about 6 inches from the lower master cylinder. I called 5 dealerships in Dallas but no one had the part. The front brakes work but I didn't go on the trip. I was told by a dealer that the line and labor was about $400.00. It is covered under warranty. Just thought it might be something you should check. Better to be discovered close to home than on a long stretch of highway......ride safe
