I HAVE A HONDA VTX 1300C WITH A VOYAGER TRIKE KIT INSTALLED. I AM THINKING ABOUT INSTALLING A RAKE KIT. HAS ANYONE DONE THIS TO IMPROVE STEERING? I UNDERSTAND THAT IT WILL AFFECT THE MOTORCYCLE IF THE KIT IS REMOVED AND RIDDEN AS A TWO WHEELER i WILL APPRECIATE ANY INPUT YOU CAN GIVE.
THANKS / GEORGE

If it was permanently used as a trike, I think it would be fine and enhance your ride and comfort level. Like Dennis said, it would be an instant chopper when converted back to 2 wheels. Choppers are a handful to ride, and cornering can become a little weird!ThumbUp

I've been considering the same thing. My assumption is that I'd have to split the difference between what was stock on a VTX (32 degrees=trail 6.8) and what was desired on the trike (6 degrees). I figured a 4 degree rake (trail 5") would be safe enough on the bike and would lighten the steering on the trike.
.
I've read that a trail over 4" is usually considered safe on a bike.

Here's the RB Racing Rake and Trail Calculator if you want to run your own figures: RB Racing Rake and Trail Calculator

Have you run across anyone else who's put a Voyager on a VTX?

Well I have a 6degree rake on my VTX 1800 TRIGG and love it. It makes all the difference in the world BIG DENNY:pepper:
