What is the differance from less pre-load (voyager said 1/2") shim. I started with 5/8" pre-load. what changes the more or less pre-load?

Yes but it's a fine line, because you have to have good contact with the ground with some load as it's the wheel that supplies the drive. To much pre load and the drive tire slips. Not enough and the trike will lean side to side. that's all I know about it.Hopefully Val or Zook will jump in.They've got more experience with these. The more preload the less they tend to lean in corners but the drive tire will have less traction.Basically your riding more on the trike tires than the bike tire.
