TT rally 2013 Eureka Springs

Hey Everbody, well, I got to Albany, GA on Thursday. temps at 103! I was pulling my popup camper heading for Luckys place in Alabama and then on to Dyersburg to meet up with Skuuter, Big Dog and MtnRider. Late thursday night I had a major medical issue and had to break down camp and find a motel with A/C. At 11:30 pm! Three motels later I found one with workin A/C after midnight. After unloading and reloading my stuff three times I tried a cold shower, but only a trickle came out. Collapsed on the bed and woke up a couple of hours later with severe muscle cramps. Downed a couple bottles of Gatoraide and tried to get some sleep. Friday morning I was exhausted and knew I couldn't continue. I stuffed everything in the trike and camper and headed back home. I encountered the heaviest thunderstorms I've ever riden in around Perry, FL, but at least it was cool!

I am so disappointed that I won't be able to join you fine folks this year. I just retired last week and was really looking forward to this trip. The Queen says I'm not 18 anymore and wasn't trained to be a Navy Seal! Lotta sympathy there. I'll be looking for all the great stories so have a super time everyone. I hope to see ya'all at the next one! Regards, Ace

Holy Smokes, Ace, what a bummer. Health is important, ya made a good choice, although disappointing.

10 miles before Eureka Springs. The sky opened up. Good soaking. Didn't use no stinkin' rain gear. Arrived at 1pm. 1347 miles total. Riding over to HD dealer. Radio acting up. Wife doesn't want to hear me zng anymore.

Woops. HD boutique. No service. Guess the missus is stuck with my singing (until a good size bug clogs up my pie hole).

Had to hide out at a Sonics while we waited out some thunderstorms. Good thing they have ice cream as it caused us to miss some severe weather at Warrensburg, but got to ride 40 miles in a driving rain anyhow. Will pull into the rally tomorrow.

Everyone enjoy yourselves, and be safe!! Give a little thought once in a while to those of us who couldn't make it, please? ;)

Cheri, the good news is, we are giving thought to those of you not here. The bad news is the thought is.....Bwah, ha, ha, ha! Just kidding (a little). Looking forward to August rally. See you then.

This has been a great day in the Ozarks. Yes....there's been rain...but...what's a little wetness when you're with good friends, new and old?? :xzqxz: I don't think I worded that right.....

Bingo tonight was a hoot!! Of course, I won, pepper but I think there were a bunch of winners. I know :qpnmt: BikerBozo won twice!!!

I guess I better go to bed since Skuuter has me and the hubby taking a group out on the Pig Trail.

If Bazooka gets time, he's going to teach me how to upload pictures to the trike talk forum.... Then maybe I can share what I see with those who didn't get to come to the rally. :cxtv: NANA you are really being missed!!!

Great turn out....We had expected maybe a dozen early arrivals on Sunday but were surprised to discover it was more like 150 ish with the rest rolling in today. We got in pretty late last night and I was still too wired from driving all day to go straight to bed so I wound up checking out the trikes and bikes in the parking lot and ran into fellow insomniac, Scalp Hunter. What an ordeal he had on the trip over, he hit a ground hog about 80 miles out and disabled his newly installed anti theft system which turned into a 4 hr repair job! It wasn't funny but hearing John tell the story in his trademark deadpan delivery style (along with a few choice expletives) was pretty hilarious. 3 1/2 hrs of sleep later it was up and at it time.

Today was light rain most of the day which was disappointing, but it gave everyone a chance to meet and get to know one another as we hung out in the (super nice) convention center for registration sign-ins and lunch. I have to give credit to the facility owner, Randy who has gone above and beyond for us, waiting on us hand and foot. This guy is a class act and keeps the property nice. I highly recommend staying here if you ever visit the area.

Tonight was Bingo/Open Bar Night and about half attended and the other half went out to explore the town's bars and restaurants. Tomorrow the weather forcast calls for mostly sunny skies so everyone is looking forward to getting in some riding in the AM and the Mayor's 'parade ride' tomorrow afternoon. We have taken lots of pictures but cant post any until we pick up a new card reader at WalMart tomorrow as ours is broken.

Fantastic Turnout...!!!...It's been Great hooking up with Old Friends, Meeting New Ones, and adding still more faces to the Trike Talk Cast of Members that we interact with on a Daily Basis. BIG THANKS to ALL of the Many TRIKE TALK VOLUNTEERS and HOTEL STAFF that have kept the TRIKE TALK/TOI ANNUAL RALLY 2013 IN EUREKA SPRINGS, ARKANSAS humming along at an exceptionally smooth pace.

I want to single out Marge and Trikeleader also for running things exceptionally smoothly, given the amount of New Member turnout, and being a totally New Location at this Year's Event

Today should be some really nice weather for some riding, whether You signed up for one of the Five Group Rides or striking out on Your own with Your Old, or Newly met Friends. Mitzie and I are having a lot of Fun, and Everyone else seems to be also....Looking forward to Another Great Day today. I have too many wheels on my vehicle this year due to some "circumstances", but hey if it has WHEELS on it, I'm having Fun...THANKS to ALL of You that Volunteered to Lead and Sweep Rides this year, see You out on the Arkansas Roads today, and remember to arrive early for Your Group Ride with a FULL Tank of gas...."LATER" TRIKE TALK/TOI Friends.....ThumbUp :10:

It all sounds wonderful! We (who are left behind for various sad reasons) are eagerly looking forward to pictures, so get that card reader soon!!!! ;).

Thank you, Dee, I did so much want to talk to you face to face, my friend!

I am SO sorry to be missing all this, but I'm trying to attend vicariously through everyone's posts, so remember to take a couple moments a day to share the fun! :)

I am so sorry I could not attend, but so happy to hear about the great turnout and can't wait to see the pictures and hear the stories! Have a great time and a safe trip home!

Great day for a ride. The Parade went off as planned. The Mayor "Big Moe" is a great guy. How could he not be a retired COP. MJ found a new favorite restaurant "The Rockin Pig" GREAT FOOD AND SERVICE.
