To All Our Vets...

I hear ya Michael, never been to HD dealer in Alton. My son goes to a small dealer north of Peoria (Reiman's, Kewanee IL) for all his work/service so I'll probably go there when in that area and I have to have something.

We travel all over and visit numerous HD dealers between April and December. I would guess that over 75% of them offer vets a discount. I think all the ones I have been to in the southern states do.

Alan, IMO the dealers need to tread lightly or lose more customers

I bet The MOCO does not care, the dealers pay them their blood money every month like clock work

I do know if you did call the MOCO in the past with a dealer complaint they followed up on it

I know from past experiences, I got why did you register a complaint from 1 dealer, then they gave me a gift card to win me back over:p

Makes sense ....Why bother with customer service, When people will buy Harley's no matter how bad the service is...Harley just adds more sugar in the Kool-Aid...

The big three auto company's did that in the 50's/60's/70's...When the WW2 Vets would only buy American...Till the younger buyers wouldn't drink the Kool-Aid...

History will repeat itself...:D

We visited dealers in several states this summer, both Carolinas, Virginia, Alabama, Georgia, Tennessee, Illinois, Michigan, to name a few. Most will acknowledge you walking in their door, but the southern dealers seemed more friendly to me.

HD has a good business model going now, we will see if that changes with the next couple generations of riders.

Got a unexpected telephone call the other evening from my buddy Vernon (Ohio). We somehow served together from basic, AIT, Germany, and VN. He just wanted to reach out and wish me and my family a Merry Christmas.

It really made my holiday season! If you have a way to contact one of those buddies you may have spent a Christmas or two with across the big pond, give them a call. As they say now....Priceless.....as we used to say...Cool man.

I've seen that clip many times over the years, And it just confirms to me that the title The Greatest Generation is safe and will never will be bestowed upon future generations.:(...

I know this thread was a couple of years old, but "times a changin" I guess.

I watched a couple games during this last season (Chicago Bears). I knew of the changes in the rules as it pertained to kneeling and such. I saw no evidence of disrespect to our flag being televised. Of course the Bears didn't last in the playoffs so that was that.

I was up in the air about even watching the SB game yesterday. Then I heard that the half time folks were going to take a knee prior to their performance in support of the players "movement" so that was that, no game for us. Haven't talked to anyone or heard if any of that took place or not.

If ya noticed Joe, during the anthem, the cameras do not focus on any player any more.

To me the NFL is nothing but a organization of criminals and muscle heads making the big bucks leagally. Collage games have more action as are patriotic players. Unfortunately some of them will get recruited to the NFL septic tank .

Didn't see any "kneelers" last night, but there were players of color that stood with their arms crossed over their chests instead of on their hearts during the rendering of the National Anthem.

Perhaps that was the new way to protest our anthem?

Gladys Knight did a pretty good job of singing the anthem IMO...

I honestly don't see what people find so appealing about NFL. They do absolutely nothing for me and haven't in over 20 years. College and high school are a heck of a lot more entertaining and interesting to watch. They can have NFL and maybe some day they might have players a person could respect. Not so much today. High priced thugs if you was to ask me.

I guess their living Vicariously by watching..... Kinna like the Rambo syndrome, With the difference being with Rambo its Hero vs Villain .....With the NFL its Thug vs Thug...

Amazing, heroic, acts performed by our military fighting men & women...

Too cool not to post. That pilot deserves some type of award or medal for his flying skills...:clapping:

Those guys are amazing.......:clapping:...I had the opportunity to ride in a Chinook a few times, There are one very large chopper to maneuver like that.. I had many hours in Huey's and most of the pilot's were amazing...And then there were a few cowboys that flew them like a rental, And would scare the B'Jesus out of you...But all in all i'm still here to talk about it.. :)...
