The healing begins

well it's my birthday today I'm still sick.

my friend got his truck fixed and we should start painting tomorrow.:clapping:

I need to finish plastic welding the right side injector cover. then install the radiator and main stay, then the wiring and she is ready for skin.

yes I'm going to work on this today.

I still need freeze, oil, battery and registration.

she could be finished and still not run need fluids and have zero money and will take months to raise enough.:gah:

when finished she will be all fresh and ready to go new everything:clapping:when she is finished

big progress sort of

ok the main stay is on, the left side is complete, the radiators are on, the wiring is connected. they sent me a left driving light marked right side, it's wire is short other wise it fits fine except were it says top on the lens is down. I will extend the wire and no more issue.

I purchased a 2001 right side exhaust and the out pipe at the end points out more so we modified the connecting part from dft to move the exhaust back into place.

other than fluids she only needs her brakes done and we will do the front tomorrow.

just painting a skin left.

the only thing I don't have at this point is a right side highway peg, I could use a new set but can not afford.

DA DA DA CLIFFHANGER :xzqxz::AGGHH::gah:

JOY has new oil and filter, gas in her tank, anti freeze.

I have a battery for her and only need to install it.

I also need to hook up the computer and turn her key. she also has new front brakes now

the next post will either be good or bad???

WELL NO JOY EVERY THING SEEMS TO WORK BUT NO F 1 LIGHT

there is 1 main harness plug that is unaccounted for going to test the balance module

my money is on the unaccounted for plug, every thing else seems ok she turns over nice. it is a 13 pin square connect on the same part of the harness as the radio plugs I believe it to be a connect to maybe the coils or something that fell under the tank as we can find nothing to connect it to.

yea not bad luck just finally at a point of testing the electrical system.

no damaged parts no missing or bad grounds all connections made except for 1 square connector on the main harness with the 2 radio connectors it has 13 pins. all fuses good all relays good checked everything else

we believe it to be the connector plug for the coils. we believe the other connector was left under the air box by mistake.

the f-1 light does not come on.0903141503.jpg

I going to start reassembling the lower cowl so when she start I can finish assembling her and go for ride.

I get my pins out of my finger next week and start rehab on my hand.

Not sure by the pic. the exact plug you are holding but there is connector very similiar to that one that is for the cb.

let me emphasize again everything else is ok INCLUDING THE BANK ANGLE SENSOR

the cb connection is under the trunk

Rowdy after installing my CB I have to agree with you on the plug. Triwingirl have you checked out the sidestand switch? Im just fishing here so bear with me.

Well since you seem to know all about it I fail to see why you post here for suggestions. By the way, you need to look into the cb installation farther. There is a white connector for the cb under the shelter. Whether or not the one you show is it I do not know. Good luck with the repairs.

Heres a pic of the CB plug connected on my bike. You can follow the line taped to the right side of the tank to the plug I have circled.

ok ill tast the bank angle sensor for damage it was connected. I don't remember having a loose plug I thought they were all used. I do not have a cb. the f-1 light does not come on and have checked the relays and fuses. no damage to harness everything else works. no reason to suspect computer. may have bad coil as wires were torn and may have shorted. bank angle sensor did take hit.

new plugs and wires

I agree it would be odd to have coil connector connected to the radio. still will check all connections again and remove tank to double check. have no idea what is wrong connected everything and no f-1 light.

could computer be shorted? it was not hit. would not other components before computer take the damage first like the relay or fuse that are undamaged?

could it be in the gauge cluster it did take a hit, but seems intact.

could a bad bank angle sensor keep the f-1 light off?

have no reason to suspect the kick stand as been fixed long time but will check it to please you.

ok:gah:

so that bad luck thing that was mentioned you were saying.:gah:

OK I FOUND SOMETHING:blush:

I removed the bank angle sensor and found something.:xzqxz:

I MIGHT BE WRONG BUT I THINK THIS PART MIGHT NOT BE TOTALLY FUNTIONAL?

yes it's the bank angle sensor :gah::gah::gah:

as I have a sudden financial need. I am putting my trike up for sale. she has 35,000 to 40,000 miles on her she has survived an accident and has been completely repaired with new parts. she is pink on the front and black on the trunk. she need new rear fenders from DFT and will be complete. I have deducted the amount for the fenders of $1400 and reduced for the color.

I have had her appraised because of the accident they offered me $25,000 wrecked I'm asking $20,000 firm repaired and running.

yes if you are following her rebuild yes she is not finished yet but will soon be.

contact me by pm to get contact info. well sell immediately and finish repairs before delivery. she will run at my expense.

some good news we installed the repaired bank angle sensor and turned the key the f-1 light came on.

JOY started and ran. :pepper:

the f-1 light comes on after starting so there is an issue and I will have to diagnose her and run f-1 test.:gah:

THIS IS WHY I POST AND ASK QUESTIONS

yes I know everything does not everybody here?

im having trouble with my manual finding how to check dtc codes in the computer I found some codes but not the info on how to do the test.

does anyone know how to check for dtc codes on the goldwing?

my f-1 light stays on after starting she is idling at 1500 and yes I also intend to remove air cleaner and restart then box and so on.

thank you for your understanding and assistance

and yes I'll take offers on JOY that are not insulting I will not give her away.

yup there could be bad gas as i poured the old gas out then rinsed the tank out with isopropyl alcohol to rinse the tank there was some left in the tank

good news bad news

I got the pins out of my finger today the doctor said for my comfort. however my finger is in no way finished healing.

he said it is still broken and will still be splinted and to continue bone stimulator treatment. he said it is now very fragile and now the pin holes have to heal. my hand is back in sling

I can no longer use my right hand again at all, so assembly is on hold again.:gah:

can't turn throttle any way im wondering now if ill get to ride her again

I did the dtc code test and the F-I mil light just started blinking we stopped counting at 150.

she is idling at 1200-1300 rpm she wont idle down. im going to check the air box and kn filter. shes acting choked.

im betting someone knows these symptoms and will have the right answer.

the cable seems free im going to double check that to.

took her for ride up street and back has good acceleration, steers good drives straight brakes work great. cant skin her until engine idles down right.

her skin is assembled and ready to go on. a very unique combination of light and dark pink and black. some parts just needed to stay black and others I ran out of paint so sue me.
