The healing begins

ok time to stop guessing and get her fixed. I have called a local mobile goldwing mechanic that should be able to help diagnose her im starting to think its the computer. every thing is plugged in no more bad wires, going to take air cleaner out and check throttle again and air valve. I don't believe these are the issue checked them when assembled. the F-I light blinks continuously I think some how the computer shorted out but why does she run????

:gah::gah::gah: I will have an answer and she will ride again

i called for help as i was stuck and wanted to know what was wrong. i learned i did the dtc wrong and now know to leave the wire in.

it is the air injection valve and 29 blinks. she will be running very soon will fix valve this weekend and skin her next week.

thank yu to moe the Honda mechanic for his help. you can find him on las vegas craigs list.

new finished pics soon.

:GL1800:

she runs and rides great I had forgotten how much fun it is to open her throttle. OMG I need a fix bad. she will be skinned by end of week then I fix her rear fender.

I AM BACK AS A RUNNING TRIKE OWNER I DID IT.

waiting for part one last time.

I had purchased a used cowl stay that was supposed to be straight. the stay is bent and need to be replaced. I will order parts change it out and the cowl should mount up.

the cowl is the first part goes on the stay is what its mounted to. so im waiting for new part as the one I have is just to bent to use and the cowl will not bolt up and I don't have ability to straighten.

the good news is I got some help today and found the last issue.

I got the new cowl stay yesterday while installing the speedometer I broke off one of the bolt supports and had to glue it. the glue dried and I installed it and the stay on the trike , reinstalled the electrical and vents. got everything ready for the lower cowl and fit in on, im now getting the clips in order to put on the windshield. JOY now has rear fenders again.

Cowl Stay

It is odd that a cowl stay held you up.

April 13, last year, I took a ride on the side of my trike sliding down the Interstate at about 40+ mph. I'm still hurting (from 7 broken ribs - was in hospital 5 weeks and had a couple serious surgeries.)

Trike didn't fair well either. Lots of bucks, but the hold up was the cowl stay, which when the tooling was moved from Tennessee to Japan, they seemed to have lost the tooling. I was without my trike for 7 months. As soon as I decided to put in a used cowl stay, one arrived from Japan. (I think the shop was ready to kill me as I kept checking on progress. I even laid into Mother Honda, to no avail.)

My trike, "good as new" with a lot of new Tupperware. Since this past November, I've clocked 23K miles, and hope to keep rolling for quite some time in the future.

JOY is finished. I have the switch panel's and storage buckets left. I also need to wire in a switch for the driving lights and the emergency flashers. Then I can get new license plate.

I finished and tested the switches I was making. she now has flashers and driving lights.

I will install switches and storage buckets and switch panels tomorrow.

she is fully functional and will have a plate tomorrow. :pepper::pepper::pepper:

yea I think im going to keep her for now. at the time I needed to explore my options. thank you all for the best wishes and support.

I have discovered 2 things that don't work any more. unfortunately these are the most needed things with my injuries to use.

the reverse and the cruise control don't work. the light for the reverse comes on but the reverse does not engage. the button to engage the cruise control is not functioning so the cruise will not even turn on.

well I guess that's vegas. between the dirt and the hit on the handle bar switch I guess there is more to repair.

I will figure it out I seem to always figure it out some how.

I am assuming that its in the handle bar switch. I got the cruise control engaged and the light came on and the cruise works. the button however is another story. the button is definitely full of dirt and not working properly.

the entire handle bar switch right side needs replaced.

hope it holds out awhile as im broke, spent to much getting her running.

Me and JOY were just in the las vegas Halloween parade. OMG was that fun, so many people so many pictures taken of us. I will post some as I get them.

Maybe fuses? RIDE SAFE

Joy is running great and we had so much fun in the Halloween parade next year im wearing a costume.

I want to thank all of you for following my wreck and repair.

I am glad that so many were watch and concerned for my well being.

my finger is healed and still wont bend. they tell me if it does not bend soon it never will. my pinky is a long term disability now.

it amazes me how important one little finger is when riding a trike.

I am learning to get along and will be fine.

they are giving me a stretching torture device to make my finger bend and I have to willingly do it to myself and make it hurt bad and leave it that way.

so I get to torture myself now.

I guess I should give in and start wearing black like everyone else more leather and lots of chains high heels and over done make up.

im starting to like the pain so, I guess ill just give in.

but im a pink girl and hate black so I guess im a pink pain loving girl now, all I have to do is find more pink leather. :xzqxz:

HI; Well I got bad news, I fell down my stair on sunday the 16th. yup im hurt. :(

I broke my left big toe and have a fancy new shoe for my trouble. im stranded again as my foot is useless.

Good news though as most of you know I do not roll over and play dead. :xzqxz:

I am designing a suicide shifter that I can use to ride with, cant ride if cant shift.

it will come up the left side and cross over the tank so I can use my right hand to shift. it should be sort of push pull as apposed to up down , from the angle at which it will move with the shifter.

so im going to have a pink goldwing trike with a suicide shifter on it.
never give up never surrender ride no matter what it takes ride or die.

oh yea I got my finger stretcher, I mean my self torture device. medieval looking huh.

1118141718.jpg1117141840.jpg

well other wise im ok and I will not be stranded anymore 8 months was enough. :kpzxvq:

yea and I got a paddle on my throttle so not to much of an issue and I can almost grip the throttle with 3 of my fingers.

ThumbUp

this is my first attempt it was made by my friends dave and I thank him very much.

It does not pivit on the shifter it is solid and does not move. so it shifts forward and back and has just enough room to do it.

I have not riden it yet but don't expect an issue.

I will make first trip to home depot for parts. I got an idea watching dave fit this it was loose and pivoted and moved up down. so I need something that pivots.

I have cup holder screw connectors on my cowl. so I get an eye bolt that will fit around the shifter and use say u bolt clamps on both sides. now I have a pivot. put another eye bolt in cowl screw hole. stick rod through eye bolt and connect or weld to eye bolt on shifter. now I have a up down cowl mounted shifter and add a cool knob and there you go.

:xzqxz::mad::(:confused:

well I went to knee doctor and found out I tore my left knee.

lateral cartilage tear and meniscus tear.

as soon as Obama approves my injury I can get mri, then surgery and I will lose all use of my left leg for months.

well at least by the time I get my knee operated on I should be starting rehab on the foot wont that be fun. :xzqxz::mad::(

update

I went back to knee doctor and this time he said I fell down and gave myself arthritis. he offered a cortisone shot. I said that's not going to happen so he offer anti inflammatory's I also turned these down so he offered a super food so called natural option.

for those that don't know everything that you get from the pharmacy is synthetic.

my knee is getting better sort of just getting used to the pain I think. I took the suicide shifter off, it was having grinding problem to much engine speed lost while shifting with right hand.

my physical therapy has ended for my broken right pinky finger. it bends at the knuckle, and that's all. I can not make any of my finger bend. I have massive scare tissue on the underside of my finger from the break digging into it for 2 months. I have a permanent lady finger. my hand and the other 3 fingers are slowly getting stronger.

my drivers license has been revoked because of the accident that was not my fault. so im stranded again and joy is covered now.
