In fact, it was the strongest wind I remember ever riding in. According to NOAA radio the gusts were more than 60 MPH.
Three of us were riding to go to lunch and my helmets visor was flapping up and down. I could not keep it in one position. Did not have to worry about that for too long as I was in the lead and the wind pulled the visor right off the helmet and it sailed over the rider behind me (Thank goodness it did not hit him) The third rider saw the incident and retreived the visor for me. Which I promptly put in my trunk.
