Bit Nippy Today

Ice Fishers are the people that I refer to as crazy....That's right. Me. The one out riding all winter.:qpnmt:

I go ice fishing once a year for the last 40 + years on our lake and never caught a fish....I just yell ''Tip-Up'' And five other drunks run sliding across the ice to be the first to reel the fish in...

As I season in life, cool weather sure hurts the body. When I was a little younger I was in the Army in Alaska. I do remember being out on a few field problems with -30 being the norm. I am talking about being out for 30+ days in this kind of weather. Artic soldier life was hard in the winter. Now when I was not soldiering, racing the snowmobile in -0 weather was a lot of fun, as well as ice fishing, or hunting caribou. Being cold depends upon what you are doing. Jim

I had some cold sucky days in the Army. That is 1 thing I do not miss

I have been out in the shop Boxing the last couple ours.
23 degrees and my heater ran out
Had to keep going to keep warm

A few days ago Casper, Wyoming was the coldest spot in the country with - 31 with 40 mph winds.
I didn't even open the damn door for a couple days, yesterday it got all the way up to 39 degrees and felt like a miracle even though the winds were hellacious.

I might even leave the house sometime today, no bets!:AGGHH:

The air hurts my face, why do I live somewhere where the air hurts my face?

Please send me a whaaaaaaaa-mbulance?

You guys don't know when you have it good.........I had to cut the grass today.

Ok, now it's cold! 20 miles north of me it's -12. So compared to them we are allot warmer! It's all a matter of perspective.

WOW! I don't know how you in the north do it. I gripe when it gets down to 33 or 34 degrees and I have to throw a covering over my fruit trees (2) to protect them from the frost.

I thew a cover over my fruit tree today too. I call it enclosed leather chaps.
Wasn't that cold. A piddling 24'F. Made more interesting by leaving my house at 4:30am and riding the trike 200 miles to a job. Another job then the ride back home.

RE Rino

good riding out here starts about the 3rd week of June then its great.

Until then its one of the few places you can stand in mud up to your ass and have dirt blown in your eyes.

Every time we get a good day the wind speed exceeds the ambient temperature.
Good thing to remember if you head out this way.
The temp goes from around 50 degrees at that time in June to 90 degrees overnight.
