Took my Triglide in for it's 5000 mile oil service and having the clutch recall done. Complained about my speedo and tach gauges had water in them. Sometimes you could watch the water run down inside the lens. The water would dry on the lens inside of the gauge and leave water marks that you couldn't remove. The service dept said they have had some gauges with that problem. I hope they replace them.

I sure hope they do. The water marks were bad enough to where the lens face looked dirty in certain light conditions. And that is on a new 2014.

FWIW when they did that on my 06 Ultra I ask, the dealer said they would replace them. They also guaranteed the replacement would do the same over time since they are not sealed, I decided to just live with it.

Well new gauges on order. The tech saw something on the inside of the lens. He told me to take pictures of the water on the lens when I see the water more visible and he will send them into the Company. And sure enough, no more than 20 minutes into the ride home, seen the small water runs coming down the lens. So see what the Harley Davidson Co. has to say when they see the pic's. My Tech says this is the 2nd set that he has seen in the pass year or so.

Depending on the local climate, some folks never have a problem. I've seen several bikes with the issue, but then around here you can take a bike from a cool garage out into warm humid air out side and presto instant gauge fogging, which leads to water marks inside the gauges. The last 2 Harley baggers I had, plus the 2010 Triglide I had all did it.

My 11T/G Does it also, Mostly just the Volt and Oil gages, But I ride in the rain and snow.
I'm lucky I guess? After a while they will dry up with out any ill effects '

It gets pretty humid here...lots of months each year 90%+ humidity...

I've had a few that were really bad swapped out, but always got some, even on the "better" ones that were swapped out.

I have not thought about this in years...never had one that did NOT fog up until a few years ago. Just realized that on the bikes I've had in the last 5 years, I don't remember one of them fogging up or getting little droplets of water under the lens. Guess they've done something to improve them....or I've just been lucky. :)

Here on the Oregon Coast we get a lot of humidty. My Ultra Glide that I traded in use to get fogged up lens but after a short time, they would clear up. The speedo and tach on the Triglide has water running down the inside of the lens. They don't even fogg up. You can ride for a half an hour or better and see nothing, then slowly here comes the water. Then there are days that I won't see anything at all or I am getting used to it. Now the fuel and amp gauge, nothing. But anyways, new speedo and tach has been ordered.

Harley gages are Guaranteed water proof at 100 feet, Any thing above that ; Like At Sea level they leak...;)
