Has anyone ever ridden the Moki Dugway in SE Utah? I'm planning a trip for next summer to SE Utah and I'm want to know if the Moki Dugway is too treacherous for a trike.

The Moki Dugway is a gravel section of state Hwy 261 near the Valley of The Gods park, about 11 or 12 miles from Mexican Hat, UT

Please advise, Thanks

I don't know the road, but I can tell you that I rode those kind of roads on 2-wheels for years and find them child's play on a trike. The only concern I think you should have is maybe gravel flying up and causing a break in either a radiator or oil cooler, if you have either.

Yes I have ridden it both ways. The curves are paved now and only the straights are hard packed gravel.I rode it on my Venture Royal and also a Royal Star Tour Deluxe with no problems.Just take your time and enjoy the ride. There are pull outs where you can see clear to the end of the world,or you can look a little close and see the wrecks of uranium haulers from back in the fifties. In Mexican Hat there is a restaurant on the river that serves the best Navajo Tacos,be sure to have lunch there.

Viewing the Moki Dugway on Google Map

TUSK, you may have already looked, but if you go to goggle maps, satellite view, you can see & follow 261 north of Mexican Hat. You can see the tire tracks in the gravel & see as it changes to a hard surface. The part I followed was an area very very twisty, just south of Mule Point Rd.

Thanks Pegasus1300 whats the name of the restaurant for the Navajo tacos? also what motel/hotel do you recommend in Mexican Hat?
appreciate your and everyone else's response TUSK
