Hi. I'm new here so please forgive me if this has already been talked to death. I just wanted to ask if anyone has an issue with the Reverse Circuit Breaker (2015 Freewheeler) tripping a lot, and if so, what did you do about it? My circuit breaker trips a lot, not necessarily going uphill either. Am I doing something to cause it to trip? Your advice is greatly appreciated.

Dumb question, but I'll ask...you make sure to disengage your parking brake, right? When I first got my TG, I tripped it several times not completely disengaging the brake.

The reverse on Harley Trikes is a assist reverse , So if your using it like a true reverse it will trip the breaker....

There is a small learning curve for hd reverse make sure parking brake is off and that you release the reverse button before applying any braking is what got my breaker to quit popping
Good luck mike

No problems with either my 2012 or 2014 TG's

Once I missed a turn on the interstate, had to back up about 50', no problem at all. Worked like a champ.

I know the parking brake is off. I only had to do that once. But I will pay more attention to keeping my finger on the button and off of the brake. I'm pretty sure I have been taking my finger off of the button because it's just not natural, Reverse on a bike. Thanks everyone!!!

I found once my breaker tripped a few times the whole thing took a $hit. The dealer replaced it all, Motor and breaker and now as long as I rev up the motor to keep the voltage high I can back up hill about 25 feet without an issue.

when I have to back up a long way with reverse I just use reverse to get momentum and then pull the clutch in until I am almost stopped and push the reverse and get momentum up again until I am where I need to be . Not continually staying on the reverse button and over stressing the reverse motor is a good idea. I do not use the brake until the clutch is pulled in and I am almost stopped . Then I click it into first gear and I am off. Never had a problem doing it this way. The only time I have ever tripped the breaker switch is the first time i ever used reverse. I forgot to take off the parking brake. :AGGHH:

NEVER apply brake and reverse button at the same time. NEVER pulse button.

Let off button and drift to let drive gear retract off ring ... then apply brake.

So if you let off button after getting reverse speed up and drift till you are almost out of momentum, without using brake, and you push button again to get speed back up again is that pulsing? Or is it better to just use button , go as far as you can with momentum after releasing the button, stop and then back up some more? Hoping I'm not doing this incorrectly.

I've always thought pulsing was basically pushing letting off, pushing letting off, etc in about one second intervals. What happens is called cold load pickup or the initial loading of the starter which is the highest amps on the system. This causes the breaker to trip. Once you establish the load by holding the button, the amps steady out and drop to operating range which is less load on the breaker.
