Retirement...Florida or Arizona

Thank you for the compliment really like this forum and helping Randy keeping this the best place for trikers to come for information and friendship.

As mentioned by paws, TX is a truly great retirement state. No state income tax for starters. State sales tax in some counties is at 6 and 3/4 % on the dollar. I'm on 6 1/4 acres and pay under $600 yr in property taxes. Winters are mild enough that I can ride darn near year round. And that is without heated gear I should add.

JEFF. My name is Rick. I moved here to Arizona and my wife and i and our other riding friends DO NOT regret it. YES the Summers are HOT. But from Oct till around June its riding time everyday if you so choose. We bought a place in SUN CITY WEST ARIZONA. It's a retirement community. There 3 in this area. Sun city, Sun city west and Sun city Grand. All with 5 miles of each other.

Plenty of us old dudes out riding motorcycles. Plenty to do and see out here Golf or riding and our community centers are TOP notch ! From about mid June till Oct its HOT NO reason to sugar coat it. Think about this also No cutting grass or picking up bags of leaves. NO shoveling snow or driving in it. Our roads don't have pot holes the size of your car either. So far this year in the west valley we got maybe and inch of rain. NOW the east valley around Scottsdale is a different thing all together they get more rain then we do during the monsoon season. Only thing you have to worry about is do you have enough cold beer ready for when your friend come over. WE have at least 5 to 6 Major grocery stores out here and restaurants all over the place too many to mention on here.

Come on out and rent a play for the winter months and see for yourself. The only down fall we seen is why we didn't do this SOONER. If you have any more questions let me know. Rick... P.S. 1 more thing NO school taxes if you live in a retirement comm either. MY insurance went down also on my car , truck and my Harley went down big time when we moved here.

Always wondered about those Sun West communities. Just curious, what do your HOA fees run?

Are golf fees included in the HOA fee?

We have those retirement communities in Texas and since we are heading toward retirement have just recently began to look at options available.

Thanks. Carla and Jim
