Our dog has been riding with us on motorcycles for years. She took to the pet pod (our name for it) like she had always been riding in it.

Do they make ear plugs for dogs, or hearing aides? I would think the wind noise would be very high hanging out there.

Have never heard of any ones dogs having ear issues---Ours has at least 10,000 miles riding with us-----she does use the windsheild at higher speeds
