TriGlide Running like Poo and Rake

On my last trip my 2010 Tri-glide was running like Dog Poo. Last tune up was 2,300 miles ago during 10K tune up etc; On the long interstate hills I would have to downshift on most to keep up with the two wheelers (only running around 75 mph) There was a pretty stiff head wind, running with wife and luggage on rack, but during my last lengthy trip, did not notice the same issue, it was as if I had some bad gas. Ran this tank out, put some HD fuel additive in and no change. Next step is to take to dealer, get Dyno Tuned etc; but I would like some feedback on suggested engine mods I might have done to improve performance. Since it is low mileage and has all my accessories off my Ultra, no real interest in buying a new one, but not afraid to spend a few bucks on this one.
2nd question: Ignore the rake question, found it in the posts.

Tell us a little about it, has anything been done such as Stage 1, how many miles are on it, what exhaust is on it?

Adding to the above questions and since it is a 2010......... has the transmission sprocket been changed from 32 tooth to 30 tooth?

Update

I had a 10K mile check out, tune up, etc; etc; before going to NC in Oct which is why I ruled out the tune up, air filter etc; however, since it sat more than run over the winter, and this was the first lengthy trip we have taken, I think your advice is wise and am going to take it. Research has turned up Arlen Ness Air Cleaner and Power Vision race tuner to be a good combo, thus I think those along with plugs etc; and tune up are great place to start. My 2 wheel ultra has a tuner which has never really seemed to give me much extra power, but I am convinced they have to make a difference. Our local Harley dealer doesn't Dyno trikes, but may not be necessary as long as the mechanic knows what he's doing?

Regarding the sprocket, I am sure it is factory, I'm only second owner and the first never rode the trike much. I assume it must have an impact or you would not have ask?

2010 Tri Glide
V & H Exhaust
Everything Else Factory

If it has only or about 10,000 miles and its a 2010 year model i would run some techtron (spelling) Chevron through it. This may not solve the problem but it sure wont hurt.

What V&H exhaust? Is it just V&E mufflers on the factory head pipe, or is the head pipe from V&H?

Huge difference. 2009/10 models had a 23 tooth sprocket. In 2011 MoCo made the change to a 30 tooth. Many of us had already made that modification on our own as the 32 tooth was just too tall for the Tri Glide. Made passing on hills possible. Single best modification I ever made to any motorcycle.

Great Feedback, will add this to the growing list! Thanks!

These are just V&H mufflers on the factory head pipe...

We purchased a '15 Tri Glide two weeks before Sturgis. Only had 753 miles before launch and about another 1,300 getting there from Albany, OR. Usually had to down shift if RPMs low. Found street vendor selling a resistor deal, easy plug in, that increased the air/fuel mix to rear cylinder. REALLY made a difference doing the Needles, Spearfish, etc routes. NOT break neck performance but a bit of xtra umph when rolling the throttle on. Check out: www.speedsterledlights.com . The deal is for '07-'15, 96-103-110 engines. jimmer16

I much prefer Berryman's 12 over Techron for fuel system clean-up. It's all I use twice a year on my cycles .... or anything else that seems to not be running perfectly. Walmart carries it. I use the Nightrider FL-ViED-10s on my decatted stock 2014 and it runs GREAT. I've got over 13K miles on my 2014.

Did we just get spammed by a vendor selling LED lights as a performance product ??? I was going to add my $.02 but will pass now.

No .... the LED guy is also selling the Nightrider XiED (fixed air fuel correction) and ViED (variable air fuel correction). Seems at a higher price than sales.nightrider.com manufacturer.

Thanks for the clarification.

Guess I've been under a rock. Have never heard of these systems. Wonder how they would work in conjunction with a V&H FP system ?

Would the play well together ?
