I don't know what is going on but I'm sure it is not good does anyone have an Idea what is happening? Could it be a head gasket or cracked head I'm completely in the dark here. Help if at all possible. Fred

Valve seals would not create an external oil leak, blue smoke at start up yes.As others have said would lean towards a head gasket.Just wondering, the rubber boot that covers the clutch cable looks as though it is resting against the cly is it possible that it has a hole in it and when you or your service guy lubes the cable oil is seeping out,I have seen stranger things happen.
Thanks for all the input I have 25,150 miles on it I have owned it since 10/10/2013 start mileage for us was 7,872 miles. I am the third owner. All heat control done to the machine I have done, PV tuner, Tank lift and air deflectors thank Kevin DK Customs. Mini Might Love Jug fans PaPa Zook. I went to visit a local independent wrench his theory is possibly valve seals are shot from heat and dried out sitting all winter I noticed a little stain at the end of last season of riding. The Indy also said it would be a good time to freshen the entire top end, most likely I will be going that way then I know what I'm dealing with. I plan on keeping it for as long I breathe, decisions... decisions... Thanks again for all comments and points to pondered... :good: ride safe Fred
Sounds like relatively good news! I think you're going to like the new pulley!
Kevin
Just got back from picking up a very different Triglide we now actually have guts pulling out and there is a 6th. gear in the transmission New stator and voltage regulator the plugs were rotted off old regulator. and a whole bunch of new gaskets 10 year old Harley I am not complaining. The change to the 30 tooth pulley is great, now anyone in flat lands with a little more motor I would make a tremendous deal on a 32 tooth pulley. Until then it will be a door stop in Garage. New Castle Harley fixed us up in less than 10 day's this time of year good people great service at least in my world. We paid a good price for our service and I am very pleased Motor is all dried up no issues now at all. Travel safe Fred
First repair I had to do since purchase in 2013. I have added things ie tuner raised fuel tank air deflectors changed windshields a half a dozen times and changed front tire twice. I have not one issue with the 09' I'm planning on keeping it until I die I can repair change what ever and not worry about Harley wanting to void a warranty. 44 months of ownership first repair comes out to less than $300 per year in repairs, I spend more than that on lottery tickets. These repairs were due to age not engineering. I even had the front Pulley swapped out from 32 tooth to 30 tooth while was apart time to get the same gearing newer models. Happy Harley Davidson owner. :bye:ride safe FredFearless, You seem to be pleased with the work that had to be done after about 10 years of Tri Glide ownership. Do you find that it increased the price per mile cost of operation significantly looking back over the past 10 years or are you thinking it was not that significant?
