I use Shaeffers in my custom motor and I use Shaeffers in my primary and transmission. I can order a case (12 quarts) of their engine oil on Amazon and it comes out to just under $13 per quart, which compared to buying it over the counter is a great price. Same with Shaeffers primary and tranny fluids.

I just stopped at my local dealer (Bert's, Port Charlotte) and picked up a couple chrome filters. $48 for two of them. Looking for a alternative. Any ideas? I'm sure Harley doesn't make their own filters.

Last I knew NAPA filter were made by WIX. I used them for years on my twin cam. Never an issue. My trike was blacked out so I even used the black filter. Also the filter was the same as on the Ford 2300 4 in my wife's Stallion.

None of the above. Ultra Lube SAE 20W50 full synthetic 4T engine oil V- Twin API SL JASO. 5 gallon pail.Right from the refinery. DK Custom oil filter relocation kit with reusable filter. I'm not impressed by bullshit trendy names.

LINK to permanent, performance oil filter.

Thanks Kevin, it is on my "official to-buy" list. I checked your link and the only negative is my oil changes will take slightly longer due to cleaning/drying the filter. In reality though, all that means for an old retired guy is that I'll need three bottles of beer instead of two!
