Hello all! I am so excited I have a 2007 orange goldwing. Right now its sitting at the dealer where it will be converted to a Hannigan trike. The kit is suppose to be there in a few weeks. I am getting the whale taile spoiler, running boards and the aux fuel tank. The hardest thing will be is I am from wisc soooo cant ride it till spring! The dealer asked if i would mind if they stored it there for me in their show room, I said sure as long as i can come and visit my trike when i want :yay: I will post pics when its done

Clear skies, Steve W.

Congrats and welcome aboard.

Congratulations! Would love seening photos when it is done. Do you have ice and snow on the ground all winter?

yes mostly anyway what I dont like is after the first snow they dump lots of salt on the roads, when that happens I like to wait for spring after a good rain.
Hey my daughter and her hubby lived in a mobile home court in Copperas cove when they were stationed at Ft Hood. We loved visiting for christmas....nice area.

Thanks it is a nice area. Going on a recon ride today around the Austin lakes. Probably be a bit skittish as this was part of the area I hit Bambi a yar ago. A friend will lead a ride next weekend and we are going to scout our road conditions before we lead a bunch of people there.

Good luck with your new ride.:D

I am originally from Wisconsin and there is usually snow on the ground the first week of November. Definately not riding season, anyway it is too cold to ride in that part of the country now snow or no snow.
Tom:confused:

See if he will let you drive it around the show room on the week ends.........

Congrats

Glad you like our area! (We're about five minutes from Ft. Hood's Main Gate.) We are lucky enough to be able to ride most of the winter - very few really cold days, with little or no salt to hurt the vehicles. Come back and visit first chance you get!

Gee Stargazr, You don't ride in winter?? We do...all winter:) ...er..did I tell you we live in sunny so Cal?:D When we say the temps are freezing, we mean it's down to the low 40s.:D. Dude, it's gonna be along wait. Meantime, enjoy our Forum

Thanks everyone for all the coments! Gosh has anyone ever said "a trike!! why are ya doing that??"" I had a co worker tell me "I wouldnt be caught dead on one of those!!" I just hate people like that I say ride your own ride as long as YOU like it it dosent matter. Why is it some people think there has to be something wrong with you when ya drive a trike?
Sorry just venting,,

Just ignore them. I heard this often when I first bought the spyder. But those same people wanted one as soon as they saw it. :p Sorry you have to wait to ride, but you're right, once the road salt is down it's back to the car full time. I was on the road by early March this year, hope you get an early Spring!

Ask them if they want to go on a ride with you. If they say yes have them follow u & find a high-way that was just grooved or a dirt road. Have that be 1/2 way through the ride. Bad John BAD..:)

I was just in GB yesterday...on my trike. My daughter goes to school in your town and I needed to deliver a package. I ride till they salt the roads. It's never too cold to ride, just dress like a snowmobiler. People will look at you funny, but when you're funny lookin it's ok
