Being new to roads smith trikes how or what has others put on the fenders of you're HTS kits? Did you use clear chip guard or find leather fender bras?

welcome aboard most use either one or the other. The clear cover is mostly invisible.

We had fender bras on our GL1500 Motor Trike. They had rubbed just enough to dull the paint under the covers slightly. I know folks that like the look of the fender bras, but added protective film under them to protect the paint. The current trike, a GL1800 Champion came to us with a protective film over the front of the fenders. The choice is in what look you want - Bra's or braless. An upholstery shop can make a set of bras, and we have a sponsor, Seethroughbraz that can fix you up for the film.

Welcome to Trike Talk from Southeast Missouri. I had the fender bras on my Goldwing and I think they worked great. When I sold the Goldwing it was about ten years old and the bra rubbed a small area on the edge but nothing very noticeable. I see a lot of the clear tape and it seem to work also.

Thanks for the welcomes everyone. I just mite have a look at the lines. Leather would be nice but gotta think of budget.

Welcome to Trike Talk Mike!!

From what I've seen, there really isn't any bras available to fit the HTS kit that will offer good protection. I used a 3M Paint defender spray on but to be honest I wound not do it again. In fact this winter it is going away and I'm having the 3M Pro Series clear film put on. I have a couple friends that have installed it and I'm pretty impressed. GOOGLE it and watch the videos.

Good luck with your search. :xszpv: :xszpv:

I have vinyl on my Hannigan. Bought them from the manufacuter and were only $150 been on over 2 years and 50K miles still look good.
