62k on trike, trike runs good but is slow on acerating.

has anyone installed a 4* timing advance gear

whats your experience and advice.

Might want to check the tune up in general.Vacuum lines and such.I couldn't tell you if mine has the 4 degree or not but it seems to keep up fine.Actually its pretty peppy.

Do a carb sync, change the fuel filter and new plugs. The 1988 and 1989 GL1500 some use the degree wheel on, but you also have to use premium fuel. A carb sync does wonders, you'll wonder where all that power was hiding. :clapping:

I agree with TrikeLady. If you're down into the carbs, check the vacuum lines beneath the rubber cover below the carbs, I've found many vacuum leaks in there.

If you do decide to go with a new trigger wheel, make sure it has good square cut tips. Many for sale on ebay, years ago, would have near rounded tips that didn't fire the ignition in proper time. I found many a sputtering 'Wing & Valkyrie (at 3k+ rpm) with these sub-par trigger wheels.

And you'll need premium fuel, at least with the 6*
