Is it just me noticing or is this site getting a lot more new members? Is it possibly a sign of the times as us old farts see limited riding ahead if we don't do something different? I know I've been holding off as long as I can but 3 wheels are getting much closer than ever before for me. Actually looking at different conversion kits. So is the wave of young hot rodding kids coming of age???

I would say that people are getting older and looking to extend their motorcycling thrills and going the trike route, they join forums to educate themselves. The internet is the best place to look for info and chatting with others and learning from those who are already involved with trikes.

:)

I'm a new triker

I love my bike but with age and old injures ridding my bike has become near impossible. And me not wanting to give up my bike I decided to convert it into a trike. So last week I ordered a Frankstein Kit and yesterday we started to put it on.

With out the 3 wheels I would be done riding, I also am addicted to snowmobiling but the last few winters never really came. I can't get my fix on a few inches of snow.

So my later today I'm going to be a triker and I'll be riding again. This will make me feel much better:pepper:

Well I think there is a huge wave about to start as older riders begin to see limited ability to ride if they don't do something. And converting a bike to a trike is one option. Which I think may show up with increased new members showing up here and other sites like bike specific sites. Should see about 20 years of it and then it will die off as the snowflakes just don't do anything except complain.:D :D :D

I'm with ncbandit, and I hope in 10 years I am still physically able to ride 2 wheels. I changed over for several other reasons. Our area of SW Florida is growing in population quickly and pretty congested, so to be on a slightly more visible MC makes me feel safer. The roads in Florida are generally good smooth pavement so a Trike's harsh ride isn't that noticeable down here. I have had a lot of retired guys (and a few gals) approach me at gas pumps and parking lots to ask questions about my Trike. They usually end with "how much does something like that cost?" Maybe there will be a trend with boomers to gravitate toward riding trikes.
