Hello all. I am a 73yr old veteran with an amputated left arm above the elbow. I just bought a 2007 Sportster 883 with a Frankenstein trike kit. To clutch, I attach a belt to the stump of my left arm with a strap running to the clutch lever. When I shift, I simply move my arm rearward a couple inches to pull in the clutch lever. I completed the Harley Davidson Riding Academy Course and now have my Michigan 3-wheel endorsement. The ONLY problem I have is activating the left turn signal. Does anyone have an idea on how to move/ mount a left signal switch to the right hand side? Thank You!- Rick

Welcome and nice looking trike. I suppose you could relocate the button to an available hole in the right side switch box then extend the wire over to the button.

Welcome to the forum. Someone should be able to jump in here with some ideas. About the only thing I can think of is some type of special switch off a metric bike where both left/right are housed together in one unit. Of course you would have to be able to reach it with your thumb. Other than that possibly some type of button switches for the sides of your gas tank that would activate and deactivate each turn signal, positioned in the right place for you to hit with your knee.

where there's a will there's a way... sure you will find it. best wishes & good luck

Welcome aboard. Nice job on the trike. The factory switch is just 2 wires that when pushed activate by momentary contact telling the flasher module to active. It is waterproof.

So locate the wires in the harness extend them to the right side and find a waterproof after market switch that can be attacked somewhere on the right side. The flasher module will still turn it off as before. Good luck.

Welcome to TrikeTalk Rick. Kudos to you for overcoming a challenge to be able to still ride! Unfortunately I don't have a good answer to the turn signal question but I'm seeing some suggestions already being given.

As I'm a Goldwing guy and don't have a lot of experience with Harley, I have another question for you. What other controls are located in left side? I know on mine, besides the turn signal, I also had the horn as well as the headlight hi/lo switch there. If yours is the same, I would put the horn right up there in importance to the turn signal swap.

May God bless you sir. Don’t let anything stop your dreams. I’m not an electrician but I’m sure there’s a solution to that turn signal issue.
