Motor trike squeeking?

For some time now I have been troubled by a squeeking coming from the rear somewhere and could never really place it. I had tried a number times to inspect most of the moving parts of the rear suspension . Which one would have suspected to be the cause as it happened whenever we went over a bump . Not loud enough to be heard all the time. You could also get the same result by swaying the trike from side to side on the foot boards. Well to-day I found the culprit. It was the hand brake- who would have thought ? Oiled most of the moving parts and some of the exposed cables. Got rid of most of the squeek but not all, still quite faint and not all the time . It just may be in the cable itself. Have to wait to see if some of the oil reaches the parts that need it.

Has anyone with a motor trike Adventure had a similar problem. If you are having one then this just may help you to get rid of that annoying squeek.

If your kit has a monoshock for suspension, check that first. I had the same issue with my CSC kit. Lubrication helped

First time I've heard of a parking brake causing a squeak :xzqxz:.

Take a look at the shock bushings though (specifically the lower shock bushings). Easy enough to remove the bolt/washer that holds the shock in place. If the bushings are stretched the bushing will "slide" up & down on the shock mount causing a squeak (noise level will depend on amount of wear). If the bushings are worn they can be replaced (better than having to buy new shocks).

I have a 2010 with Adventurer kit.

In my case its the rear bushings that always squeak. They must be neoprene and you can spray them with silicon and it stops its for a very short time.

Ive more or less learned to live with it. or to turn the radio up!!!

I only hear it at slow speeds as is.
