I have a 1997 GL1500 and would like to change the passenger foot pegs so my wife can change elevations while riding. I would have liked to buy the Kuraykin transformer pegs but they no longer make them for the GL1500, only the 1800. Has anyone ever installed these and have any idea if the ones for the 1800 could be adapted, maybe with the help of a machine shop, to fit a 1500? Also, if you know of any pegs that would allow her to change foot positions that are made for a 1500 that would also be helpful.
Thanks for any suggestions.

Thanks for the info. I went on their website and couldn't find them. I even called them and they didn't have them. Do you have their part # so I can try to find it on their website?

Thanks again for getting back to me. I looked at the link that you gave me and it said for a 1993 SE. Mine is a 1997 Aspencade. Do you or does anyone know if there is a difference between the mounting of passenger floorboards between these bikes? I've never had to install or remove them.

Hi Brianl.
To answer your question(s),the two bikes are different.Mine is a '97 SE model and the passenger floor boards rise and lower by using a lever under the storage compartment on right side of passenger armrest. The Aspencade did not have these type pass.floor boards on certain years.
Transformer boards for the two different types are also different due to the way they mount.SE only requires that you remove the cotter on the end of the long pin that goes through the floor board and add the transformer board. The other one requires mounting hardware that bolts to the frame which did come with the different transformer boards.
I have installed both types and it's is an easy change, like you say "if you can still find the right ones.My wife just loves them.
You might call Neihaus Cycle @ 1-800-373-6565 and ask for Char in the parts department. If anyone can find them for you it would be Char. They UPS ship.Might even have them in stock as they do stock a lot of the older GL 1500 parts.
Hope this helps.Sonny

Hi Sonny,
I called Char, she's fantastic to deal with. She said they're all sold out on transformer pegs for my bike and apparently so is everyone else. She sent me a picture of some pegs by Add ON that they bought before they went out of business. They do the same thing as the transformers but mount behind my existing floorboards. They're also about $100 cheaper. Thanks for the tip, I'd never heard of that company.
