Had my 16 TG about 9 months now (8,200 miles) and I just had to change my fob battery for the second time yesterday. Either I bought some really old replacement batteries or something is discharging it. I keep my I-phone shoved down in the same pocket and have to wonder if somehow that is messing with how long the fob battery is lasting.
I put my fob on a leather shoe lace and wear it around my neck. The only time it comes off is when I bath. There is nothing worse than going out get on the bike and it won't start cause the fob is in the house. My fobs are two years old and still going great but I have a spare battery in the trunk

I use one of those quick clips and do attach to my belt.
I carry one in my wallet and one taped to the underside of the flap of my tool kit. I carry 2 just in case one of you guys don't have one I can give it to you and still have one..![]()

Buy the way since i'm electronically challenged, Do you have a link to a video on how to replace the POD's battery properly so as not to void the warranty...

Can't resist, LOL
Here it is .
Can't you just punch in your code of your fob don't work? I had to learn that trick early. Dealer gave me the wrong trike for the keys.
I used to keep a extra battery in my wallet, But after a while it left a Condom ring on it...![]()
Hummmmm...... pretty small circle there wouldn't you say. Not much bigger that a 2032 batters.

I carry a spare battery for the fob in my trunk. Also, I have the pin set-up with my birthday being the code. A while back a buddy and I were out riding on a Sunday afternoon and stopped at one of our favorite watering holes. When we got ready to leave his bike wouldn't start. Fob battery was dead and he didn't know what the pin was because he had never changed it from the dealer code. He didn't have the card with him from the owner's manual with the dealer's code written on it. Since it was Sunday we couldn't call the dealer. I ended up riding home and coming back with my trailer and hauling his bike to his house. The next day I bought a spare battery and made sure I had the code set for something I wouldn't forget!

Once with my 2017 Tri When i left it with the dealer for Warranty work [Oil migration], By mistake i took the FOB with me and also forgot to tell them what # i had changed the code to.[Most times the factory sets the code at all #1's].......And they had no trouble starting and test riding after the Warranty work.......
