Last week I got my 9 degree rake kit that I purchased from @Papa Zook (Cut N Shoot Customs).

I usually do all my own work, but a close friend (Who also has an Independent bike shop) did me a favor and installed my kit while I went away on vacation. I know many on here may be use to the factory steering and actually have no issues steering their trike as-is from Harley….. and honestly, I was too!

But now after Papa's 9 degree rake kit was just installed, the steering is effortless and even the ride is much smoother too! (I do have 14” ProAction rear shocks and also added their Front fork kit too… this Tri Glide is absolutely amazing and even though I knew I would notice an improvement… I never expected it to be this great!!!)

It completely exceeded my expectations!

Papa Zook…. Thank you!
And thank you for all the answers to my questions.

To my fellow Tri Glide trike owners, brothers & sisters… all I can say is this rake kit is so worth it and will take your riding experience so much more pleasurable and enjoyable to a whole new complete level!!

Here’s a quick video/review I just did today.
(Forgive the word repetitiveness and I’m also just getting over a cold)..

Wow…. Just wow!!!!
My only regret: ….not doing this sooner!

I have a 5.5% rake on my Goldwing, (I have no idea how NO rake feels) BUT I also love it....... steering is easy!!

I’m gonna do this eventually. Just picking my battles right now, gonna finish my new to me trailer first.
Understood!
I had mine completely tore apart last winter and would’ve been ideal for me to do it then…
Honestly, I was still slightly skeptical and was still “researching” about it at that time…
I could definitely kick myself for not doing it then… but I can say this whole year riding it I got really used to the factory set up.
After now doing it… OMG!!!!
Yes…. This IS really that good!!!!
You won’t regret it once you do it! 👍🏻👍🏻

Do you need to change anything else in the front suspension, springs, shocks, intimidators, etc?

You don't need to change anything, unless you are not happy with your front suspension. Most do not, but Brett being Brett probably has.👍

If you planning on a front suspension upgrade, it would be a good time to do so.

Negative….. it all comes complete with everything you need including the fork extensions. In fact you will also benefit a better front ride if you have a fork kit already in too.

Pics of the fork extensions:

Yes sir! Lol! Ya definitely know me!

I already had a ProAction fork kit installed prior over last winter…
But it’s definitely more noticeable now with the rake kit and the front is MUCH smoother. 👍🏻

If you do some research on here I did a report on this for Randy probably 8 years ago when I installed one on the 2013 TG.

I put well over 60k miles on the trike with the rake kit and it is definitely an outstanding mod, and with the rake the steering is SO MUCH better.

If you do your own work it's a half to full day job. Not difficult for the average wrench turner.

Can we expect a long ride report any time soon?

It sounds like a very good install, Good on you

Hi Jack,
I don’t ride cross country (mainly because I don’t have the time along with other obligations including my business, KustomFX, LLC.) so I definitely don’t ride as much as others on here… BUT I definitely ride it every chance I get.

When I bought this 2014 Tri Glide last September, it only had 5,600 miles… I now have a little over 9,400 miles on it. So I have put almost 4,000 miles on it since I’ve owned it and typically do put approximately 5,000 miles a year on my previous bikes. I know many others on here have had this same exact kit on their Trike and we ALL have heard nothing but positive about this rake kit… which is the main reason I decided to also install it.

@Gorilla just made the post above and mentioned over 60k miles on his.

This kit is absolutely amazing!!

I have a question that I forgot to ask Papa Zook when we spoke on the phone yesterday. I have not read anything in the reviews or additional post that mentions anything about headlight adjustment after the TT install. Any words of wisdom on this subject? Papa?

George,
It does raise the head light aim point a bit, just use the headlight adjuster screw to lower it slightly.

Could you please tell me the type of rider and passenger seat that you have installed in this video? It looks like the passenger seat is taller than most. My wife complains about harley tallboy seat height. Of course it doesn't help that I am 6'6" and hard to see over or around. Thanks in advance!

I can say there is NO change in any type of buffeting whatsoever. I actually changed out my KlockWerks in favor of a Freedom Shields just not too long ago and already loved the new windshield and can say it is unchanged, so no worries there.

The seat came with the trike when I bought it. It is the Harley Davidson Road Zeppelin (Air adjustable) seat. It’s an awesome & extremely comfortable seat & it’s also rider seat & lumbar & Passenger seat all air adjustable.

I was thinking about doing this for a couple of weeks before I saw this post. Thanks for the write up and video. I want some easier steering and it would also be good for my wife who wants to learn how to drive the trike. I had a very enjoyable conversation with Papa Zook yesterday and I ordered the kit. I’ll put it on next week when it arrives. I won’t have any problem getting the front end apart. Getting it back together again correctly might be a challenge. I’m just south of you in Hopewell in Beaver County. I too took my trike to Pro Action. They redid my front and rear suspension.

Thanks again.

You will NOT regret it!!!

Yes, George & DJ at ProAction are great people!
(I graduated from Freedom, but now live in Shenango Twp in New Castle…. So yes, we are not too far away at all!)

It’s not too bad of an install, but if you certainly feel intimidated I can give you my Indy’s info… he’s in Sharpsville and was also a Harley Senior Tech at Thunder in Sharon Pa before they closed.

I was going to do mine, myself but I was going on vaca and decided to just have him do it. He’s had his shop now for years and Thunder turned all their customers over to him!

Send me a PM if interested and I’ll give you his info.

Lastly, you will be absolutely amazed at the results with this!!! It’s so easy to steer now!

You’ll love it! Enjoy!

Thanks for the offer. I'm pretty sure I can get it done. I have removed inner fairings and front shocks a number of times. Never removed or installed a triple tree, but it doesn't look that hard. I'm sure that I will have a call or two with Papa Zook if I get stuck. I went to high school at Quigley in Baden (no longer there). We used Freedom's football field as our home field since we didn't have one.

Not a problem! Small world!!

Yes, it’s actually not all that bad. I had mine completely apart already when I got it all re-painted and took my forks down to PA for the fork kit. (THAT is when I should have done it).

But at that time, I was just in the research phase of this kit and wasn’t completely sure of it yet.

Although I can kick myself in the “A55” for not doing it then… I can now totally appreciate the “before and after” too. (plus my Indy and myself trade favors back and forth and it was my turn to cash in on the favor! Lol!)

You will be quite amazed at the awesome ease of steering plus an improved ride too!
