Has anyone installed a J&M CB-2003 into a Stallion Trike? If so, could you give me some information on where you found a switchable power source as well as the interface between the SONY radio and the CB.

Thanks

Took the power from the fuse box under the seat. I piggy backed with a piggy back fuse adapter purchased from NAPA off the radio fuse. That is a switched fuse. I do not have any interface between the CB and the Sony radio. Been installed for 4 years with no issues. Range is short only about 1/4 to less than a 1/2 mile. Works for what we use it for talking back and forth while riding. We don't further apart then that.

Thank you for the information. Where did you mount the radio and did you have to make your own mounting bracket? Did you interface the CB into the on-board SONY radio?

Thanks again

The mount was supplied with the radio by Sierres as stated below. I don't think they sell the kit any long though. You need to check direct with them. I mounted mine left side of the air vent below steering wheel. Placed a notch in the panel for the wires. Just bolted the mount through the panel. As I stated above NO interface with stereo. Ted

I just put my J&M 2003K on my Stallion. I mounted the head unit to the left and just below the dash. Beleive it or not I used a garage door bracket for the mount. I used one bolt hole that is used to bolt the dash panel and had to drill the other so the bracker would bolt tight. The J&M unit had a wire that would go the the radio / CD but I also add a Bluetooth unit so I can get my phone calls while out riding if I want. Connecting the head unit to the radio also took a cable that went to the back of the radio. The cable was one that had two plug in cable that went to the back of the radio and one on the other end that went to the CB head unit.

Ed:

What year is your Stallion. My wife's is a 2010 and there is a light on the dash under the steering wheel and she thinks that will get in the way. Am going to mount to the upper left side of the dash. Interested in what kind of Bluetooth unit that you utilized. My wife was using an Integrator and so is going to miss not being able to answer her telephone. I did get a cable for the radio from Robert at Overby's Two Wheel Sound. He has been very helpful on several occasions. Maybe sometime we can meet and compare stallions. We live in Ozark, Missouri not far from Lambert' Cafe and somewhat close to your location according to your profile.

To all, thanks for your responses to my question.

My Stallion is a 08 and the Bluetooth unit I put on was a J&M JMDM-IPBT-JCB03. The unit plugs right in to the 2003K unit and works great. My only problem is that I am so old school I still have a Rugby cell phone and need to open it while driving down the road. O well, life's not all bad!
